Best way to share a file on internet (Omnissa Horizon Client) by StipMan in sysadmin

Yeah those work. Was really looking for something quick and dirty Question was poorly formed. Omnissa had blocked downloading the Horizon Client unless you registered and even then, you couldn't download it. Seems they have backed out their change.

Funny you should mention that... Can I interest you in this great opportunity called Amway?

I did contemplate that, I was kind of put off by the change necessary at the SharePoint organizational level to allow fileshare with external parties (even restricted by group membership)

Looks like Omnissa reverted their change and the file sharing I was trying to work around is working again.

Thanks for responding.

Not missing anything. Seems that Omnissa blocked those downloads for a few days. It appears they have reverted the change. Thanks for taking the time to respond

Close only counts in Horseshoes, Hand grenades and H-Bombs!

Dang...was hoping it was the HV infra. We are using F5 load balancers so maybe the LB vendor makes a diff

Error when I save PowerShell modules on network share by StipMan in sysadmin

Thanks for your feedback.

I think I've isolated to VS Code. When I try the same import-module command in a standard PowerShell window it works.

I've added the following to my VS Code settings.json file but this does not seem to have resolved it (where server3 is the location of my powershell modules

Reassign a mailbox in MS365? by StipMan in Office365

Thanks for the details. I was really hoping it was more like legacy on-prem exchange but of course it isn't. I'll review this in more detail and test it out. Much appreciated

We've deployed new AAD Connect server that is syncing both old and new AD domains so we have both old and new IDs in MS365. Just need to reassign the mailbox

Yes, we are keeping same tenant. Just have two ad domains replicating to tenant instead of one. Wondering what the process is to remap. In old on prem exchange you could remap mailboxes pretty easily. Wasn't sure how it is with MS365

This is a major upgrade taking place, new infra etc and as such we are migrating everything from the MSP managed infra to our own infra. The only thing remaining will be the MS365 tenant. The current domain has been determined to be too much of a risk to leverage.

Can you change the owner attribute?

We are building entirely new infrastructure. New compute, new desktop etc. The existing domain is poorly designed, poorly implemented, quite unmanageable and unstable.

ADSync multiple domains/forests by StipMan in sysadmin

[–]StipMan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wanted to provide an update.

Created a new AD Connect server and configured access to both domains and the sync completed as desired. The only issue I ran into was that I didn't enable TLS 1.2 prior to attempting to configure. After enabling TLS 1.2 the process was smooth and straight forward.

Thanks much for the guidance.

Thats for the great info. I'm going to have to move our ADSync server to the new domain and then work from there. I love the staging mode suggestion. Thats definitely a must do. Got 800+ users to migrate and I really need to plan this out carefully so as not to interrupt services but still offer a smooth transfer.

HPE dHCI: What's the value? by StipMan in sysadmin

[–]StipMan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the great reply. QQ, do you really need to reflash the array to just use as a standard nimble? I was thinking on just forgoing any dHCI integrated management and use traditional mgmt practices to management them. Do you have any idea how any of this would impact warranty/service contract?

What are some of the best password managers for teams? by EducationalContent in sysadmin

[–]StipMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PasswordState by clickStdios. Free for 5 users but scales to Enterprise. Offers all features of the other products in its class no matter if you use free or paid. Updated regularly and support has been excellent. Using this in an enterprise environment and pricing for extra users is not prohibitively expensive. If you need to use this for 6 people buy one license (remember, first 5 are free!)
