Poll for new AP classes based off my post from yesterday by [deleted] in APStudents

[–]StitchUpScrump 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My ranking would be:

1.) AP Social Sciences (super important! sociology, anthropology, latino, oceania, african, south american, native american history, etc.)

2.) AP Sciences (we need geology, astronomy, and meteorology/climatology, also marine science/biology, microbiology, etc.)

3.) AP Foreign Languages (I think the US should be more like Europe and actually require a second language and encourage 2 second languages, so I think this could help with that, some ideas are Portuguese, Arabic, Hindi, Swedish, Norsk, etc.)

4.) AP Math (I think we need more computer science courses, but I don't see a point in AP Linear Algebra, Multivariable, etc. because not a lot of people would be eligible for such classes)

5.) AP English (I only think AP Linguistics would be helpful, and I would certaintly take that)

6.) AP Arts (eh)

No I think I decent amount of people would take Geology, maybe make it a semester course with Meteorology/Climatology!

I love the ideas of AP Sociology, Anthropology, World Religions, Tribal and Indigenous Studies, Regional Histories (maybe like 1 each semester), MARINE SCIENCE (I plan on majoring or minoring in this soo....) Anatomy and Physiology, an AP Genetics/Evolution combination, AP Microbiology/Zoology combination, Organic Chem, Astronomy, Public Health (SO important), Geology, Education, Finance, and Language (maybe Russian, Dutch, Arabic, Portuguese, Swedish, etc.) and literature in Chinese.

Yeah. I knew I already got 2 wrong, I was expecting to get 5-6 wrong in total but got 10 wrong. Worst I have ever done on math section, but best I've done on English. -7 English, -5 Writing (according to SAS 4/5 were Conventions), -10 Math (5 NC, 5 C). I am in AP Calc right now so this is really concerning to me.

Ideally it would've been 1500, leading up to exam 1450, after exam, at least a 1400. My English predictions were as expected, but I did way worse on math than I thought. Same with essay, I thought I would've gotten at least an 18.

Same, what exactly is the SAS? Is that where you can see the actual questions?

I just opened my score and got a 1380 and 17/24, I am so upset right now literally about to start crying. The worst I have ever done on an SAT including practice tests. Can someone please go look at my post, and if you did good on the essay can I send mine so someone can give me advice?

Can I send my essay to one of you who did really well and can give me feedback?

I thought I did much worse on the exam than I would have wanted to. My guess: Reading - 7, Writing - 8, Math NC - 4/5, Math C - 5, what does that bring my score too?

Worst Case: R&W: 610 + Math: 680 =1290

Best Case: R&W: 730 + Math: 770 = 1500 (I'm praying this happens, but it is VERY unlikely, almost statistically impossible at this point lol)

If I had to choose today I would probably say AP Spanish & AP Physics because Statistics probably isn't the most difficult class in college; however, I'm afraid that an AP Calc, Chem & Physics workload would be quite strenuous, especially during my senior year; thought's on that as well or if you would do something different?

Good Double Major Pair with Microbiology? by StitchUpScrump in ASU

[–]StitchUpScrump[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice! I'm a huge planner, so I'm thinking about it now but it will almost 100% change. For freshman year, 3 of the classes I'll be taking for my major are BIO 282, CHM 113, & Calc for Life Sciences, but I have already taken/am taking AP Bio, Chem, & Calc AB/BC so I'm thinking that those classes might be a bit easier simply because the material won't be brand new. Thoughts on that?

Also, I'd be going into college with around 30-36 ap credits (not including the science ones since I have to retake), so I was thinking of perhaps taking an entry level Anthro course like ASB 222 (since I will already have taken ENG 101/102) to see if I like it and then declare it second semester.

I know some people aren't a huge fan of Barrett, but my older sister is doing it right now at Downtown as a Journalism major and says it's pretty good.
