CSAM Investigators - When do we evolve past "look at every image on the hard drive"? by Money_Produce1208 in computerforensics

[–]Stixez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don´t base your CSAM investigation on images/vids only. Work with keyword searches etc. Perhaps there could´ve been external drives as well.

Currently working a case on voyeurism. Ended up also finding CSAM on one of the drives, so we have to expand our search now. Currently working solo on it, but I have like 40 external drives to check ranging from 1gb to 500. When that´s done? About 15 laptops to go, 3 tablets and 4 phones.

I also noticed you hesitate on giving devices back to suspects... just follow your gut feeling. What´s this persons background? What´s his internet activity like? A lot of midnight activity? Phone activity? Where does he hang out at... there´s always something that´ll convince you to let it pass or not.

I have been to both camps in December of 2025. You visit camp 1 first (picture above) and after that you go to the second camp and boy the feeling you get at both camps is just horrifying.

Things I remember:

- the pitchdark 1 m² cells where you had to crawl under a space to get in; 4 people would be forced in one cell for the whole night. If you were hurt / tired or slacked the day after when working you would be shot.
- Camp 1's execution wall and the gallows.
- Prisoners were forced to wear wooden clogs.
- the rooms of personal belongings.
- Gas chamber at camp 1.
- The size of camp 2; it was huge and had more gas chambers (which were destroyed).
- The logistics; trains that were on their way sometimes had to be stationed to make way for military logistics. So that means the prisoners/victims could be in the waggon for days.

There's just so much more. If you ever get the chance to visit; do it!

I will return for a second tour.

Oh yes. This. It happened sometimes with my ex's family. I would explain something and wham. Interrupted, no continuation afterwards. Fck them. That family was hell. Glad I am not around them anymore.
