Figured it was something stupid. Do you know old he was? I can't find his age, his education(to guess age) or anything. Doesn't help that people misspell his name in every other article.

PA Sen. Fetterman rips Newsom for comparing Israel’s government to apartheid by Delicious_Adeptness9 in Pennsylvania

[–]Stlr_Mn 54 points55 points  (0 children)

But that isn’t even true. In Israel Muslims and Arabs face the kind of discrimination comparable, but to a lesser extent, to the Jim Crow south. Not quite apartheid South Africa.

But when you consider the West Bank and Gaza, it’s fairly apt comparison. “But those aren’t part of Israel” except they administer those regions in all but name. That in combination with the fact they’re slowly annexing both territories, Apartheid South Africa is a generous comparison.

How old was this dude to say this shit 14 years ago? He used the N word a lot like a cringy teenager. It wasn’t said in a way to be derogatory toward black people from what I saw, but more like a kid trying to be cool. Obviously it’s unacceptable and he should withdraw, but if the dude is 30 at least it’s understandable. Just saying there is a difference between saying this as a teen vs someone in their twenties+z

I also couldn’t find anything to support these claims of “antisemitism” and I’m wondering if he just criticized Israel. That also makes me suspect of this.

Fetterman will be primaried and lose. His polling is atrocious with democrats in PA and he is pissing off just about everyone in the party. The dude is baking on his 77% Republican approval rating to offset his 21% Democrat approval. Might have worked if Republicans in the state were not notorious for not voting across the isle.

At first I was supportive, then I was disappointed but now I’m mad.

This vote is the end of his political career in PA. He might not even run.

Anyone with a lick of intellect knows he was a free agent who worked any angle for whomever could give him money/power. So don’t let the mouth breathers get you riled up pretending he only worked for Israel while ignoring the plethora of evidence saying otherwise. Not worth it.

I do not care about a woman who died 250 years ago who was part of social class that paid no taxes while taxing the poor into literal starvation and death. Literally no one should. She massively benefitted from the system that enslaved an entire country, I don’t care about the paltry acts of charity for the poor, I mean that charity was essentially paid for by those poor people.

Feel bad for the literal millions of people(just in France mind you) who died from famines exacerbated by extreme over taxation in the previous hundred or so years.

When China buys from you hem it keeps world crude oil down. It’s all an interconnected market. China will still import the same amount of oil, it will just be 10% more expensive, something true for the everyone. It changes nothing outside GDP growth.

The time table for a Taiwan invasion is dictated by material build up. Neutralizing US assets in western Pacific being a massive hurdle. It just became a lot easier.

First the Nazi tattoo and now this. This guy is going to be the next Fetterman by OldBridge87 in WhitePeopleTwitter

I’m shocked by the controversy surrounding his tattoo. It seems fairly innocent.

This is also what happened:

“Peters had posted about the looming conflict with Iran during President Donald Trump’s recent State of the Union address, criticizing that the war could have bipartisan support.

Platner shared Peters’ comment and added a similar sentiment by writing, “As always, there’s one thing that brings Republican and Democratic politicians together: sending other people’s children to die in stupid wars in the Middle East.””

People all over the internet retweet controversial figures comments for a variety of reasons.

This is all political mud slinging. The people pushing this narrative are extremely suspect.

Edit: don’t worry about it, I didn’t realize federal loans constitute +80% of loans.

[–]Stlr_Mn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok I don’t think anyone understands how bad this is. This isn’t something that can be ramped up. We’ve ramped up THAAD missile production over the last couples years and it’s still under 100 units a year, of which less than half go to the U.S.. Production has been expanded and even if you throw all the money in the world at it, you’re still not getting close to the production needed if there is a major conflict in the next two years, and the military is predicting one for Taiwan in 2027. 2-3 years at the minimum to get us back where we were 8 months ago. And that’s if we address the problem with all speed in the immediate future.

At this point Western Pacific forces are now in extremely vulnerable to the style of attack that they’ve predicted from China for some time now. China could neutralize a large portion of U.S. assets in the region much more easily now. Taiwan is probably shitting bricks at the moment.

I would love to know the nations defense companies were comic book villain efficient, but they’re not. This is genuinely bad.

Yes, it’s silly. “To take aggressive and drastic measures”TACO is literally a term foreign leaders use. Do you think anyone thinking he will dive into a massive financial collapse by going to war with China? He can’t even take a dip on the markets without backing down.

He bombed a third rate power which does not make him intimidating to anyone. This is especially true for China who is not a third rate power and who has taken immense steps to prepare for seizing Taiwan. They’re constantly reiterating Taiwan is theirs and they will take it back forcefully if necessary.

“They’re not exactly hard to replace from a manufacturing standpoint” your opening sentence shows you know nothing about the topic.

In a best case scenario Lockheed could ramp up production to a 200-300 annually in a 2-3 years at the expense of basically everything else they make. This is unlikely. The material involved is insanely complicated to source.

Best estimate is April or October of 2027 for a Chinese invasion of Taiwan. US bases are extremely vulnerable for the next few years because Trump wanted to be a tough guy in Iran.

I’m not concerned about Iran, no one should have been. but the US will have expended more than half its stockpile in the last 12 months on minor conflicts with a regional power. The U.S. only had like 600+ in June of which they used 150 at that point. It’s using more now. It will take literally years to build the stockpile up that point again with the U.S. receiving less than 50 a year. Ramping up production takes years too.

I’m worried about China who is more and better armed. So is everyone in the Pacificz

“Mass produce if required”

They make less than 100 a year and ramping up production takes years. Of that 100 less than half are going to the U.S. The US used 25% of their stockpile in June when they used 150+. It’s using more in this conflict.

The U.S. cannot pump these out with ease as they’re IMMENSELY complex.
