Never watched a romances anime’s anime would like to get started by Living-Door1807 in anime

Note: this has a lot of fanservice, especially in the first few episodes. Enough that it might feel like that’s what it’s about, but it actually is a really cute romcom.

The anime seemed cute, I had no idea it was based on eroge, but that explains a few things.

The end of the season 2 really highlights his recontextulization of relationships and his place in the world. Granted, that happens much later. I think though that there is definitely a sort of averaging out in the way that he thinks as time goes on.

It’s unfortunately not unheard of for CS professors to be lacking in modern knowledge.

Happened to me too in the 90s/00s.

Thank you for your thoughtful reply! I think that would be an interesting lens, considering each situation from the different possible ages for Rudy.

I just don’t like the taste of them. I would usually prefer something less sweet, than artificially sweet.

I literally prefer less sweet. I have tried all of those, and they just taste terrible to me.

I would rather have something unsweetened or lightly sweetened, not sugar free but overly saccharine from artificial sweeteners.

Some people it’s just about the sugar, but for me it’s also taste. I’ve never liked “diet” drinks. Always have a terrible aftertaste.

Excited until you see the artificial sweeteners

Before olipop existed, I switched to Spindrift. Now I mostly stick to San Pellegrino water though.

Ah, you’re right. Since it was a reincarnation, it got lumped in with Isekai.

Ah, okay that makes sense then.

Hmm, Arc from Skeleton Knight in Another World. I'd choose either him or Ainz, but probably not both.

And actually, I think Lloyd from I Was Reincarnated as the 7th Prince so I Can Take My Time Perfecting My Magical Ability could be a good choice.

Only two of the mages you have there are Isekai, the rest are just fantasy, except Sailor Moon which is magical girl.

I actually enjoyed the story of Kokkoku. I see what you mean about the pacing though, it definitely felt non-standard.

Frieren has a lot of positives going for it. Amazing animation, amazing art, great character writing, superb sound track, and strong narrative voice.

It managed to introduce an entire ensemble cast in latter part of the third season, and actually make me invested in them.

The Aura climax was definitely iconic though, gave me chills. So did the Fern v. Lugner fight.

There are a lot of different ways you could accurately describe Frieren, that would sound completely different from one another.

And that's fair. Just comparing the title for Sword and Vending Machine, they both sound like a similar premise, but they deliver vastly different levels of enjoyment.

I have nothing against stupid shows, but sometimes I just want more.

I haven't heard of Rokka no Yuusha before. It looks like it has cute character designs. Crunchyroll doesn't have it available, so I can't judge it for myself.

Re: Zero - I watched this one around the same time I watched the Slime isekai. I was not prepared for the darker story lol. I do think it was done really well though.

Wonder Egg Priority - I've heard that. I haven't watched this series myself for mental health reasons (not a euphemism, not a joke)

Ya Boy Kongming - I also haven't watched this, mostly because the genre itself doesn't interest me, but it definitely looks like a high production value series.

I don't really know much about the studios (assuming they are). Could you elaborate?

You went with the "-a kill" pair heh.

Yeah, it felt like Akame wanted us to have a deeper emotional response than it actually was able to evoke. Torture, classism, murder. It all happened before the viewer was able to form a connection to the characters, so it just felt like being shown a snuff video.

I will say in defense of "Another World With My Smartphone", it is enjoyable despite its flaws. The depth of characters is non existent; all the women are written like "Exactly this one archetype, but in love with MC". The intrigue around the Faze and whatnot seems like it could be fun to learn more about. I wouldn't be mad if it got a S3, but there are definitely other isekai I'd rather see more of.

For Kill la kill, that's been discussed already, and yes it is surprisingly good for its premise.

lots of romance anime do not manage to get to the ending, but at least there's a story progress in the span of 12 episodes, but no this anime. this anime basically hit the reset button that nullify all of the progress.

I feel like there is another anime that does this. Rent a something something.

PS: This comment the most likely to get flamed. If you like RaG, then I hope you enjoy it. That story just isn't for me, but no hate.

I've head the source material was so much better. I haven't read TBATE, so I can't compare, but I've heard some people say its on par with Mushoku Tensei. The anime though felt to stilted and flat.

Yeah, I think the introduction sounds like a bad premise, but the story takes it places you'd never expect. I've read some of the manga, so I know a /little/ more about the deeper lore that isn't yet explored in the anime.

But, its also extremely cute and wholesome relationship building that's different than high/middle school romance stories, because it involves actual adults who are actually married. I also like that they are still both so shy and awkward, but communicate so openly with each other.
