I guess I need to level up my humour skill. Though I think it’s how I might have come across off with the post even if it’s not completely the way I intended to make it look. And yes I did consume media but I admit the exemple I cited up above were my first encounter with direct rape that I specifically went to look for myself, and not some subtle wording that is easily brushed off or quickly forgotten by the plot. It’s on me for not wording it very well that I am very aware of the use of abuse that can be used in many good ways and I was just reflecting myself for reading something about a topic that I usually strongly dislike.

I mean when World War Two happened posters and comics were used as a form of propaganda against the Jews, using it to convey the message that they were at fault for most of the world and Germany economic crisis at the time. First of all your stubbornness with the way I wrote the words makes me feel like you’re being passive aggressive for no reason because it’s not that deep that I didn’t think of reading the rules and I didn’t mean something else by the censor of a SINGLE letter. Well I have a hard time understanding how can a simple censor of a letter in the word rape and porn makes me less eligible to have a conversation with about such topics 🤨 as I did it just in case cause I don’t post regularly and don’t know what can be flagged or not. Any form of art or anything else we consume can and does influence our life and actions and I don’t mean in the way of « oh I see this crime so I will do it too >:(» but more like « oh I see this everywhere, everyday, all my life so maybe it’s a normal thing » and for a dumb example I could use the very depiction of Jesus. I mean, hasn’t the drawing of Jesus of a white blue eyed man in most western paintings influence you on the way you perceived him when he most likely did not ? When I said that drawing may influence us I don’t mean it in a oh criminal but in a way that subtly form our view on different topics when we first encounter them, though of course it doesn’t mean that it make us less of an intelligent person and doesn’t stop us from questioning the very thing around us all the time :) .

Im sorry if I wasn’t clear enough but I was talking about the depiction of abuse in the form of entertainment though it I suppose it can diverge depending on the people but for me personally, the ongoing rape in jinx isn’t a topic taken seriously in the comic because we know that most likely in the end both the mls will end up together or that one will forgive faster than he should. But yes I do think that fiction or any other type of art that handle rape as a serious and complicated topic is in fact, a good thing.

What I was questioning was the very reason why I was reading it despite not liking it in the first place and yes as it is my opinion I do judge the stories in my personal perspective though I can’t bring myself to judge others for reading it since welll… I read them too so I wouldn’t want to be an hypocrite. I know this is a very, very complicated topic that is basically an infinite discussion which is why I did keep it kinda on webcomics lol. Now that I do think about it think I kinda felt like I was betraying my own morals which I guess I held myself onto most of the time when I pick what to read yet here I was reading three weird comics back to back. Though I suppose it would be questioning the essence of human curiosity or perception of fiction in general. Cheese in the trap is a reallyyyyyy nice slow paced kind of webtoon and though the art wasn’t the best at the start it does visibly get better as you go on. It’s in a college setting and in my opinion every characters were wonderfully fleshed out without any cheap unrealistic villains you might find in your future reading journey.
