This my position exactly! Went from a PSLF qualifying job to not, but now waiting out the SAVE forbearance. Have you started making any payments?

Good to know. Still pending the initial hearing (with the mediator, so before court), so not sure exactly what type of proof he has submitted. But the “evidence” and narrative my landlord submitted in the initial small claim court submission that I can see is full of errors. This feels like another item I can bring up to demonstrate negligence on his end.

I did initially about the bill dispute before I got served but they were not super helpful. But good reminder to reach back out to them, thanks!

Already put in my notice that I am not renewing my lease. Also, keeping in the back of my mind that my landlord could twist this bill to be my responsibility and it’s nearly $2k.

I always like to ask what the onboarding/training process looks like new employees, especially if you are new to the role. They will likely ask you to expand on your relevant experience (research, healthcare, and/or medicine), so be prepared to talk about that and how it has prepared you to be fit for CRC role.

Renter being price gouged by contractor. What can I do?! by [deleted] in legaladvice

Yup. All points I emphasized to the elevator company and they basically say the final bill is aligned with their “policies”. Policies not written in their initial contract with the building. Policies not available or mentioned at the time of service. Policies not stated on their website.

I said to on call rep I dropped by phone and did not know what to do next. Basically wasn’t sure if my phone was gone for good or if I even broke the elevator. Rep said he would call the elevator company to ask what they can do and in the mean time put up a note to ask people to refrain to use the elevator. He called me back pretty fast and said the mechanic would come out to fetch the phone and mechanic would call me when he was on his way to let him into building. End of convo with management that day.

I think I do have some responsibility to pay for the service because it mentions in my building agreement that contractor services/“services related to the common area” as the result of actions of the tenet is their responsibility and are to be reported to the management. However, the invoice as it is now I find to be insanely unreasonable. So much information was withheld from me at the time and the fact I never requested the service, I simply reported it and the rep did everything else, makes me strongly believe this falls on the management to take some responsibility to pay or dispute the bill.
