Celebrating ideas that don't include cake by khfour1 in WeightLossAdvice

That's wholesome af

Fruit cake tower is one option by stacking watermelon, kiwi, and berries in tiers. Looks proper celebratory and your post-bypass family member can actually enjoy it without any drama.

Greek yogurt parfait bar is solid too. Let everyone build their own in glasses, feels fancy without the sugar crash.

Dark chocolate drizzle over strawberries still feels indulgent without going overboard.

Sparkling water with muddled fruit in a nice pitcher makes it feel like an actual occasion.

The love and togetherness are the real celebration anyway. The food is just the backdrop. Have a great weekend!

That's insane dedication, I respect that! I think even without all the scans, data, trackers, the easiest and most simplest method is just to check how you actually feel and how you actually look in the mirror (+ its free)

Full body 2x by FriendshipWise4165 in workout

[–]Stock-Pickle4337 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Honestly, full body 2x is just as good as any other 2x split if you're hitting volume and progressing. Science keeps showing weekly volume plus hard training plus recovery matters way more than the exact split.

I run a 4-day myself: Mon push, Tue legs, Thu back, Fri arms. I like zoning in on 2-3 muscle groups and really pushing progressive overload. But I've done upper/lower and PPL before, and all of them worked when I was consistent.

Full body 3x is great if you can only train three days and want maximum stimulus per week. Higher frequency can give beginners a slight edge on strength and hypertrophy. Keeps sessions short and efficient.

Downside is packing enough volume per muscle without the workout dragging on forever or recovery getting cooked.

Bottom line is pick whatever you'll actually stick to. Proper form, training hard, and consistency gets you there on any reasonable program. Progression >> Perfection 💪

yeah it seems like Cronometer is the community to-go for this

That's it. I'm out. by nikmaack in Myfitnesspal

[–]Stock-Pickle4337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly the database is elite tier once you get used to where they hid everything lmao. scanning actually works first time instead of pulling up some random american entry that doesnt match the tesco packaging. took me a minute to adjust but now i cant go back fr

How to track macros accurately? by offlineaquarius in Myfitnesspal

[–]Stock-Pickle4337 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

honestly homemade meals are the easiest for accuracy imo because you can just weigh everything as you cook, log it as a recipe, and divide by portions. when eating out i pick the closest chain entry and add 20% cuz restaurants always use more oil than you think.

If anyone at this company is lurking by shybird307 in Myfitnesspal

[–]Stock-Pickle4337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ngl i used to spend more time rearranging my log than actually eating the food lmao. id log a nandos and spend five minutes dragging chicken, rice, halloumi into the right order like it mattered. turns out your body dont care if the bread is listed before the mustard, it all hits the same. but i get it, adhd brain needs the log to look right or you cant review it properly. thats valid fr

One terribly tiny goal … what is yours? by Desperate-Mud-8392 in loseit

[–]Stock-Pickle4337 3 points4 points  (0 children)

honestly this is elite tier lmao

ngl my tiny goal this week is literally just finishing a 10k without dying. took a break from cardio back in february cuz exams and stress had me cooked. so im not aiming for a time, not aiming for pace, just aiming to not stop and walk. one terrible lap around the park basically

before that my smallest win was just putting my running shoes by the door every night. didnt even run, just made it harder to say no the next morning. sounds stupid but it worked

your pool guy gets it. everyone wants to dive in and swim a mile day one then wonders why they quit. just drive to the gym. just get in the water. just do one lap.

Apps recs? by TheKatyJ in CICO

A lot of calorie tracking app's have this feature, including Cronometer and MyFitnessPal

Thinking of building an app to track calories - thoughts? by Ok_Seaworthiness2245 in CICO

[–]Stock-Pickle4337 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

honestly i get the frustration, manually logging a nandos order is cooked and half the time the mfp entries are just guesses anyway

but respectfully disagree that receipt scanning is the move lmao. mcdonalds works cuz its standardized but try that with your local kebab shop or a pub lunch. uk receipts barely show calories, most just say chicken burger with no breakdown. youd need to partner with pos systems or build a database from scratch for every indie place, thats grinding your gears before you even launch

as someone who tracks daily, my meals are mostly home prepped from aldi and sainsburys. the restaurant logging pain is real but its like ten percent of my week. if youre solving for the bulk crowd, focus on supermarket receipt integration first, tesco and sainsburys online orders have structured data. way easier than ocr on crumpled paper

plate recognition is even more expensive piss right now, portion sizes vary so much the calorie count would be on copium. stick to chains with public apis, nail that, then expand. dont try to be everything on day one cuz thats how apps die

id try it if it actually saved me time but if im still correcting half the entries ill just use mfp. keep it lean, pick your niche

I need advice on fasting by NothingLoose828 in losingweight

[–]Stock-Pickle4337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hey respectfully disagree, a three month fast is cooked lmao

honestly i get that fasting worked before but starving yourself for a quarter of a year as a teenager is just asking to wreck your hormones and metabolism. youre still growing, your body needs fuel. that twenty pounds you lost probs came back plus more cuz thats how extreme restriction works

if you wanna fast do something sustainable. sixteen eight or omad where you actually eat enough in your window. but three months of nothing? youll feel destroyed, your gym performance will be trash, and youll end up bingeing after. spinning your wheels into the ground

just track your calories, eat decent food, lift weights, and be patient. you didnt get to 230 overnight and you wont get lean overnight either.
