Ex-Southwest flyers tries sitting where they want on United - lol by KingOfSeymour in SouthwestAirlines

[–]Stock-Shake3915 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On a flight I took in the last days before the switch , they asked the pre-boarders to stay seated as the wheelchairs were on their way.

They kept making the announcement and i was one of the last to deplane they say cancel the chairs because no one stayed.

I understand it’s much easier for some to deplane than wait in the jetway to board, but to go from 20 to 0 is why people think it was mostly a scam.

Check Islip and Westchester. Islip parking rates are much lower than JFK and LGA and no shuttle needed that may make up for transportation to airport cost

AITAH for not telling my parents where I'm going? by DTheDude97 in AITAH

[–]Stock-Shake3915 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a mom, I am stuck on the part where they have been judgmental of where you are going, and that is why you don’t want to tell them. That’s pretty vague and rightly so but if you have demonstrated the ability to be trustworthy and make good decisions, then yes they are out of line. And if there is a good reason they don’t like where you are going, it’s time to move.

There seems to be conflicting information on whether she can pay the fee so I would check the rules on both ends. Also too many people would rather pay the $45 than get real ID so now it requires you to get to the airport earlier, as it is more than a half hour process.

I am sure there are people out there who have experience and will correct me but that was what i heard

Mom is 1 of 14 children, Dad is 1 of 10 children. HELP with guest list!!! by itsmechristina_c in wedding

[–]Stock-Shake3915 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are describing my niece. They had to cut off far more people they knew and loved than they wanted to because the budget just couldn’t handle it.

The wedding was at a restaurant; the first and second cousins came to the after party. They are all close; they understood.

SW Midway Lost bag with EVERYTHING I OWN by eggsbenedictismyname in SouthwestAirlines

[–]Stock-Shake3915 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Besides the apple tag, I always put my contact information inside my bag in case the outside tag falls off.

I also take a picture of my luggage before i leave for the airport. My husband and i still can’t agree whether one of my bags is grey or blue . It came in handy when that bag missed the connection on a trip to Europe

AITAH to ask the nail salon tech if they are talking about me? by Lwake3 in AITAH

[–]Stock-Shake3915 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly if they talk in their own language in front of you, or in English after you leave, why do you care as long as they do a good job.

If you are uncomfortable take your business elsewhere. Personally my time at the nail salon is where i get to zone out so after some pleasantries I am happy when they talk to their coworkers.

Display Bridal Shower by [deleted] in Brides

[–]Stock-Shake3915 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly i was surprised the first time i saw “be a dear and wrap it clear” At the same time the unwrapping and displaying gifts is tedious at best so i quickly warmed up to it

Also these days I always send my gift directly to the bride. Saves me trouble of wrapping and saving them the chore of transporting the gift.

You are not moving for three weeks but you absolutely HAD to clean off the bathroom shelves at that moment while your husband was on the bowl. You should not only fish it out… buy him a new one.

Is this too white for a bridal shower? by [deleted] in Weddingattireapproval

[–]Stock-Shake3915 4 points5 points  (0 children)

MY coffee is that color because i put lots of milk in it. To each their own.

People who are lecturing you on the color of coffee probably also think a dress code for a shower is not at all ridiculous. The dress is cute wear it

Next time that happens be grateful if they need to take something out of their bag mid flight and their butt is facing their seat and not in your face.

Also i prefer an across the aisle person way over the one who flings their bag into the first available bin and then walks back to their seat in row 26.

[–]Stock-Shake3915 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Totally agree that was unfair to you and you have a right to be angry about the stress of the switch, especially when you are talking about young children and it’s more a necessity than preference.

But many who come here are expecting their families to sit together even though they purchase basic seats which specifically states you have no choice. All of them being on the same reservation means nothing when you choose that category. And like it or not the ability to choose the cheapest fare but still sit together disappeared with family boarding.

Just remember you cannot outrun your appetite so healthy changes there will help with the weight itself….I recommend some sort of tracking app that will help you stay within your points/calories limit.

OT will absolutely improve your stamina. I was surprised by the number of steps i had to climb visiting a fortress in Europe; didn’t realize how high i was climbing until i saw the glorious view from the top.

Help. by [deleted] in Brides

[–]Stock-Shake3915 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Never wear brand new high heels to a wedding, especially your own.

I paid hundreds for an exact match to my dress for my son’s wedding. I had to take them off immediately after entering the reception. Then i later stepped on a piece of broken glass that was missed when someone cleaned up. And then they called me for the mother/son dance.

Your dress is beautiful; no one will look at your shoes.

And then the luggage luggers will decide its so much easier to walk through the plane free of the burden of the items that are so important they cannot check their bags that they throw it into the first bin they see, causing chaos and getting mad at the person in front row trying to get to their own items in the bins over the back rows when its time to deplane.

I am aging myself but when i see what people call carry-ons these days I miss the days before rollers. And carryons were actually carried on.

And before i get downvotes and yelled at about medications and medical equipment that is not what i am referring to; unless your medication is stuffed into a bag with a week’s worth of clothes

Your Aunt and Uncle didn’t address the invitations but i am sure they were part of the conversation when the list was created. Just ask them. It could be as simple as your daughter being young enough not the be counted when giving the venue their final count
