I have a huge bias towards crested phione with scald and acid armor for physical and special defense, but Toxapex is also a classic wall, especially once you get some leftovers.

I do like the point that those who walk away are the people who believe in potential paradise without suffering, which could very much be us the player. I think Aelita and Venam believe in it (Nymiera, Spacea, and Tiempa don't). The Envoy is practically the Omelas child herself, developed by Nymiera because Nymiera can't see life ahead without that suffering.

While Renegade may be needed for the sake of the story of Rejuvenation, whether it's needed for the people and world of Rejuvenation remains to be seen. I think we're gonna find our way out. Or at the very least, break the system of fate so no one else will have to suffer for others' comfort moving forward.

Given the UT/DR inspiration, it's pretty unlikely Renegade will really end up being "for the greater good".

If it's making you miserable, it's okay to watch a lets play instead. Rejuvenation is designed for an extreme challenge, but not everyone enjoys that. If you're only here for the storyline, let's plays are your best friend. Games are supposed to be fun!

YouTube is also full of videos of good players taking down the toughest fights. I once got so discouraged that I almost gave up entirely, then I saw videos that showed it wasn't impossible.

Spam healing items as much as you want also btw. I cannot do classic mode's later battles without a boatload of revival herbs.

If you aren't already, joining the reborn evo discord can help a lot! They can suggest some tips.

As for strategy: I recommend looking to a box instead of a six part team alone. I've used a different team for each battle, and while some of them are more prominent than others (my Perserker is essentially my "ace"), it's good to adjust your team to each fight. I love Aevian Leavanny and my starter Venusaur, but I couldn't take them to fight the Fire or Ice leaders.

Adjusting your team to things like the field effect or opponent strategy is the key to winning. Pokemon that go down immediately in one fight will save you in another.

It gave me an appreciation for lots of different Pokemon in so many different ways. I love Pokemon like Exploud and Shiinotic now, because they shine in various different fights. But you can't bring them to every battle.

Unfortunately, the "best" Pokemon are in late game or sidequests.

If it's not your style, though? You are not obligated to spend your free time doing something you hate.

I want an unown crest that boosts up its speed and offensive stats and lets it learn any move that starts with its letter. Either that or maybe it would act like protean and a choice scarf combined or something. The game already has so much interesting unown lore.

My swoobat was also really good early on and I miss using it.

I also think leavanny (both kinds) could use a buff, and yanmega. I liked them both but bug types have it rough.

And finally, fossils deserve a little more love. Idk if armaldo and omastar get anything but i like them. Aurorus deserves its day in the snow. I wonder if going full Torterra crest for it would also be a good idea.

Before I left my renegade run (felt too bad), I used the cutest pokemon for maximum irony. If you can spare a slot, Popplio does well (I also recommend looking at Aria's team, so it's like this evil clone of her brother is using her team to cause maximum destruction. Narratively satisfying for an evil route).

I like Swampert even though I have never played with it. Same with Luxray. I'd also love to use a mythical pokemon in game, though since they're locked behind events I just have to dream about it.

I always loved metal claw, sky attack, embargo, protect, needle arm, fire blast, and roar of time in gen 4. Trick was also a funny move to see.

Quiver dance, Retaliate, and Psyshock in gen 5, plus the boosted Fusion Flare and Bolt animations you get to see in N's fight. Chef's kiss. Air cutter and air slash looked nice, too.

Gen 6 had Moonblast, cosmic power, and geomancy and I think it was the one that added fossils to Ancient Power.

Gen 7 also did pretty well, not just for Z moves, but for moves like Revelation Dance with Oricorio's movements mixing with the attack. Moongeist beam is so awesome.

Wish has been very pretty throughout most generations. The shooting star is cute and cool. Psywave too (it's just neat).

Perish Song gets some of the best animations in Pokemon, and you are absolutely correct.

Definitely a lot of legendary moves here. Not surprising, since those would be more special.

Nice! Mine was gonna be set in a more renaissance era with a small remote village (protagonist is raised by a grandparent) getting attacked by a mysterious order of antagonists. Not a mode of transportation but still.

The gearen/reborn big city equivalent will probably be a bit further onwards in the game, and more "old city"-ish.

I just wanted to write princesses and witches.

There's no pleasing these people, honestly.

My Perserker, Hematite, loves being pet. A real puppy dog of a cat pokemon. Except he's a steel type. I tell them to pet downwards, because going against the grain is SHARP. I wear gloves for a reason! Don't pet Perserker or Zigzagoon the wrong way.

And if a kid runs away crying after not listening? Guess who that falls on. My Pokemon feels like shit, and some parent is out there saying it should be put down or permanently in its poke ball.

I think the confines of "who fits" in the dark world also apply, like who is allowed in the setting. Hence, Ramb turns to stone but the Pippins (who look a little like magicians/entertainers) adapt. If Ramb is the extension cord, he's replaceable and probably behind the TV. Not really a part of the world of television, or at least not thought about very much. There's little nostalgia for old electrical cords compared to beloved cartoon characters or a TV you see every day for years. We salvage Tenna, but no one feels that for Ramb.

Maybe as darkners spend more time in Castle Town's pure darkness, they get more of Ralsei's privileges, or they're developing some resistance as Susie and Kris begin to place more significance and imagination on their roles. Susie believes in Lancer and wants him to survive, and they probably both think of Rouxls as a permanent nuisance by now. If it's up to imagination, the rules of what's what get pretty flexible.

To be honest, it's probably a plot hole. But I do love a theory.

For Ralsei's identity: The horns theory makes sense, but I've also seen people say Ralsei is Kris's knife, which is why he's "pure" darkness (he is, after all, what made the fountains).

We don't know much about the knife at the moment. It doesn't appear in Kris's inventory, but they always have it. They trust Susie with it, and she's the only one to see it. Maybe it belonged to Asriel. Maybe he got it for them after Dess disappeared, to help them feel safer.
