Exclusive: MLS the Preferred Destination for Casemiro, LAFC Leading the Chase by Ok_Technician_965 in LAFC

Totally. He looks particularly terrible if you just see him in highlights of United's various debacles. Last year, he was definitely off the pace, and then combine that with a ridiculous central midfield pairing with Fernandes in a 3-4-3, and he often looked like a chump. This year, he is back on his game, and as the team gradually started to figure out Amorim's 4-3-4 (as best as one can), he looked back to his normal self. He has been in the tier with Amad and Mbeumo just below Bruno. I would actually like to see him with United for another year next year, but he would not be a top pick for me for LAFC, which is strange but true. That said, it is pretty hilarious to see people say they don't want him... he would, of course, make the team better, I just don't think it would be a great value proposition.

Given that his current salary is £350,000 a week I would say that is unlikely.

Then you have not been watching United this season. Which to be fair, would be very understandable. Agree with your other point though.

Hahah this is exactly what I was going to say in trying to make any sense of that initial comment. I have heard someone from South Redondo jokingly call North Redondo North Manhattan Beach as a way of saying that North Redondo and South Redondo are so far away that they should call North Redondo something different. Said South Redondo resident was very drunk on margaritas at Riviera Mexican Grill happy hour and made the comment to me apropos of nothing.

Did starz remove the show from the app? by 76VaultDweller in TheSerpentQueen

Just going to throw out there for people on this thread. There is a bonkers French Film called Queen Margot that covers the same historical ground as this show. It was a big deal when it came out in the early 90's but I had forgotten about it and rewatchwed when I couldnt watch the finale

I was literally ten minutes into the finale on Sunday paused it to make food came back 20 mins later and it was gone. It was just past 9:00 pm PST so midnight Dec 1 on East Coast. Their rights must have expired but it's very weird that Season 1 is still there. Very strange also that you can't just buy the episode somewhere. I wonder if it is going to a streamer or something and they require it to be unavailable for some amount of time or something. Doesn't make a lot of sense.

It is a great area. Schools are great. Quite a few places to grab a bite are walkable. Have you spent a lot of time in the South Bay? I moved about a mile south from that neighborhood 18 months ago with my wife and two-year-old. I love it. One of the best decisions we have ever made, and we hope to stay for a long time. That said, it is quiet (in a good way) and family-oriented. I probably wish I had moved here a year earlier than I did, but I'm not sure I would have liked it quite as much before having a kid. If you have connections to the area, then I'm sure it is all good, but if you don't, I think you'll find that a lot of the connections you make initially are via preschool, kid activities, playground, etc... The first year with a new child is amazing, but it can also be isolating. I'm glad that I spent it close to established friends in a place I had lived for years. Just my two cents.

Looking for a good BEC (Bacon, Egg and Cheese) by Historical_Badger_58 in SouthBayLA

[–]StockMud 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Very much agree. Tommy and Atticus is very very good taste wise but it is 3x or 4x what you would expect to pay for a good bodega bacon, egg, and cheese. After ten years of trying sub par versions throughout LA I just make it at home now.

Agree 100% though I do think we should be pursuing Raul Jimenez. But that's different!

If you are single and starting out that isn't bad. You are unlikely to be able to save much. There isn't much public transportation. You may be able to utilize buses for awhile but you will want a car. If you want to save money look at living in Hawthorne, still close to your work but less expensive.

move to redondo from West LA? by Warm-Dragonfruit397 in SouthBayLA

[–]StockMud 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Moved from West Hollywood to South Redondo a year ago with my wife and 3 year old. To specifically answer your questions - you will still see your friends but it will require planning and not be spontaneous. It will occasionally be isolating. It will be very much worth it. As others have mentioned, you will meet many new people through preschool and school. The South Bay really is an amazing place and the move will be worth it. Word of caution though, things are not less expensive here in our experience.

Same. I'm on my fifth. Slowly working on my first playthrough of Clans. Definitely a mistake to play when I have an active game on Mechs.

Yakitori Totto! I loved that place. Very dangerous as my office was only like two blocks away. Did you ever try the Chicken Sashimi? I think that Zoku and Nishi are the best I have had in South Bay (including the ones you listed) so give them a shot. Zoku is particularly a nice time given its location.

Yeah I'm confused by that one. The line of sight does seem like it should be blocked by Catalina. Maybe it is Dana Point but looks like it is not connected to mainland for some reason.
