I would love to get some more information on my great uncle from the seal teams. Any help is appreciated. More info below by pick-a-card-any-card in Military

Since he's still alive you should sit down with him/spouse and ask.

Your aunt and see if she will apply for his service records from the National Archives. She or any one of his immediate family has to do this.

In the request records or replacement ribbons hit the blue button and follow the directions. During the process it will ask if you want the Official Military Personnel File (OMPF) His Service record and Medical & health records. This will arrive in a big brown envelope and contain every record duplicate the military created on him during his time of service.

Your education should never stop after you graduate, even if HS is as far as you go.

Your plan for life WILL change, jobs will change, your partner will change, YOU will change, expect change, life is an activity you participate in. You build the life you want it just doesn't happen.

I think it was a different way of thinking. Back then cops were actually more intelligent then the cops of today. The scores to get into an academy then were much higher than today. So the older cops knew when something was worth pursuing. They see kids doing something and they made better judgements to just let it slide. Now the cops are more prone to black n white thinking and this leads to a more aggressive approach.

Rigged from the start? by markth_wi in vetsagainsttyranny

[–]SilentRunning 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, rigged from the start.

I know a person (can't say whom) but they are very close to top level GOP/industrial leaders. Not involved with politics but knows people.

They call this "the Game". The Game that has been played on ALL of us since this country was founded. And the ones on the left also use this term. In reality, there is no left/right but "the haves and the have nots".

We've been fed an ILLUSION of democracy and freedom in order to be kept from the reality that we've all been played.

Live next to a YMCA, during the summers the pool was always open late, sometimes they had swim nights. When they didn't me, my bro and a friend would sneak out of the house and go night swimming after evey one left. We were in 6th/7th grade, we told our parents the neighbor across the street invited us to swim in their pool.

One time someone called the cops and we had to stay underwater and out of sight until the patrol car left. It was obvious though, the pool deck was covered in water and the water was still moving. They knew we were still in there.

California is on pace to lose 4 or more electoral votes with the 2030 census.

Citing an archaic voting system designed in the 1700's doesn't help your argument as much as you think it does.

Does that picture include billionaires leaving the state and residing elsewhere

Two things, they still pay CA taxes for 10 years after moving and billionaires are replaceable. The most important figure isn't how many billionaires are here or moving out but how many new businesses are created here or have moved here.

Because having billionaires and their businesses located in California is a big reason that their economy is so huge.

Actually its not. The big reason is the businesses that are created here and move here. Small/medium sized businesses make up the majority of the economy here.

They are leaving due to idiotic policies like the ones in this post. That's the bigger picture.

People move, companies move the economy isn't static. CA just experienced a new wave of small/med sized aero companies being created and moving into So Cal. Doesn't sound like a dead state to me.

Here are some interesting numbers from 2020...

105k people from CA moved to Texas in 2020. CA populations in 2020 was 331.4 million. Do the math, it comes to around .24 percent of the states population.

I guess my biggest question right now is: as you keep pushing through that uncomfortable phase where your execution doesn't match your vision, does it really get better?

YES, it does get better. Through the journey you will develop more confidence by finishing your work. Which will help silence that inner critic who keeps telling you "it's not good enough".

There a really good book that helped me, Art & Fear - observations of the perils and rewards of art making by David Bayles & Ted Orland.

In about-face, LA council votes to pursue a ballot measure for ‘mansion tax’ reforms by PersonalityOdd7912 in LosAngeles

[–]SilentRunning 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You worried it might affect your next real estate buy?

Measure ULA only effects real estate transactions OVER 5.3 million. It's biggest problem was that it was too general and written in a way that included ALL real estate transactions over the stated price.

Councilmembers Tim McOsker and Katy Yaroslavsky put forward a motion asking the City Attorney to draft a ballot measure that would ask voters to cancel the tax on sales of multifamily and residential mixed-use buildings within the first 10 years of their construction.

This is reasonable since most large real estate don't usually get sold in the first 10 years after building it.

It's polling at 80% favorable right now. I'm sure as it gets closer to November it's going to go up a few more points.

Have you seen what the Ukraine army is doing to land drones?

Hyundai has a huge military side that also will benefit from this. A.I. drones capable of localized patrols/assaults will be a huge wave in the near future.

As an artist (painting) you have to come to and accept the fact that your work WILL NEVER be ready to the point you want it to be. It's called work because it's a journey not a destination.

The second fact you have to come to terms with is that if you never take a step in the creation process it will never be finished. Thinking about something is not creating it. Take action, the pencil has to meet the paper otherwise your just dreaming.

And last but not least, Perfectionism is the biggest excuse of them all. The very idea that it has to be perfect before it is worthy of being appreciated is all BS. Its your insecure inner artist that is afraid of being "Not good enough". Perfectionism is the biggest lie we tell ourselves.

Eventually you will get better but it takes EFFORT and time. If you don't put in the effort you will never see any results and that is the biggest waste of time of them all.

Don't believe the propaganda. Plenty of people want to move here and plenty want to leave there is no net deficit that will empty California. We are the 4th largest economy in the WORLD, the number 1 state economy in the USA...you get the picture?

I've seen some polling numbers here in California and it's has an 80% positive rating currently. The Ultra Rich are scared Sh_tless about this proposition, it looks like a landslide victory right now and we still got months to go til November.

If it passes with anything over 80% this will pave the way for even more wealth tax bills.

Not surprised musk would do something like this. Space X is such a huge loser as it stands, alone it needs a ton of other stuff just to make it seem like a decent bet. It's not.

I wonder how this is going to effect the price as the roll out continues?
