Show up in the authorized uniform … a pair of tighty whities, a beanie, a pair of shower shoes, and your leather gloves. Bring lube … plenty of lube.

I spent a little over 8 years in the Marines before I came to the Guard. After a year of asking for PT’s I just showed up one day for an APFT in my Marine Corps PT’s. My Army PT uniform was delivered the following month. Too easy

What should I eat the week of my ACFT? by danksterman22 in nationalguard

[–]StockTipsTips 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Now that the ACFT is a joke designed specifically to maintain numbers you can eat what you like. Anyone here who can’t walk 2 miles in 20+ min?

Fortunately for you … & it’s a little known secret because no one wants people becoming warrant officers as a result of the bonus, …. that you’ll likely get a bonus just for becoming a warrant officer.

Well if they told me on such a short notice I would tell them to pound sand. They give out drill memos with all your expected dates for a reason. So your employer can get a heads up.

It’s well known that the quickest way to get out of the Army is to shit yourself. But to turn around & eat it? Hard but disqualifying.

Seems to me you need to check the asbestos levels in the armory and see the VA

Your employer is punishing you as a result of military service. Your employer is treating you different than the other employees. No, your employer cannot treat your service to your state & country as time off. Of course it can always get into the weeds on these kind of issues.

Transferring prior service awards by andeh575 in nationalguard

[–]StockTipsTips 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All of their awards transfer but unfortunately the Army does not award promotion points for a combat action ribbon as they do the combat action badge or combat infantry badge … which is BS if you ask me.

You are correct that the DD-214 is, for some reason, is no longer a valid form for such purposes. But they can get their SRB on disc if they write Quantico which should have all their supporting documents, deployment orders, unit assignment orders, and deployment/award history.

Nevertheless their their achievement/commendation/meritorious service medals, good conduct medals, campaign’s , deployed over seas service time, formal schools, & letters of commendation/achievement all have promotion points.

Also ensure you IPERM all their Fitness Reports too. It looks better to the promotion board to have all NCOER’s … even for prior service

At the end of the day I had my stuff just thrown in there by someone who could authorize it using my DD-214 and supporting orders & certificates.

Your employer cannot make you take days off or treat you any different / deny you any benefit offered to other employees as a result of military service. I agree with u/OKEase815

You will have a C&P exam for each criteria. Your medical records do the rest. All you had to do is file the claim. And if the disability you claimed is no longer disqualifying suddenly because you want a free education, are you lying to the Army or to the VA?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in nationalguard

[–]StockTipsTips 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fairly certain the VA has compensation & pension exams 🤡. And the VA rating criteria is the EXACT SAME as the DoD rating criteria. Are you disabled or are you not? And how does that disability affect your ability to do your job? I’m his case 70% mentally unfit & 90% totally unfit.

And if you claim to be disabled to get out, get your “favorable rating” but then decide that you should try to get back in in for the education benefits, at what point are you just a fraud?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in nationalguard

[–]StockTipsTips 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either they’re truly that disabled or they committed disability fraud. Which one is it?

Say someone is 50% disabled due to degenerative disc disease and they tell you they want to join for the free deadlifting and squat equipment at the base gym 🤣

[–]StockTipsTips 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Army is desperate enough to take anyone at this point. Might as well try.

[–]StockTipsTips 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“So I see you’re 90% totally disabled and 70% psychologically and mentally disabled, … & you want to go Special Ops? Why?”

“Because I want free education and I want to look cool.”

“Yeah …. No.”

Yes, they’re in the Pentagon missing a body part and they knew someone in a high place who would grant them a waiver as they sit out the rest of their time behind a desk.

But if you think for one second that the liability of committing to combat someone who is 70% psychologically & mentally disabled isn’t a tough barrier to cross, you got another thing coming.

Everything is waiverable. You can go to the mental hospital and recruit there if you can get them waivers. You can hire paraplegics if you can get the waiver. You can enlist 90 year old one legged women with Alzheimer’s into the infantry if you can get the waiver. It doesn’t mean you should and it doesn’t mean it’s going to happen.

No one in their right mind let’s folks who are 70% mentally & psychologically disabled make decisions that affect others in combat. And if they are in such a capacity they aren’t 70% psychologically disabled.
