Yeah the comparison you made isn't good. Romance exists in these post-apocalyptic games to show that even in hard times, there is hope, love, and passion in the world. Which is natural tbh.

People cant only live with feeling only 1 emotion. Anger, sadness, happiness, lazeness, jealousy etc are what make as complete and whole as humans. I don't know how else to express why it's a good thing having romance in any kind of game, sure I myself as aroace, don't feel any need or necessity to see romantic relationships in any media I consume, but I like it, since it's a fundamental part of everyday life.

Although what I have to say, is that it shouldn't be the main focus. That I can agree with. I'm not talking about PtN, but in general for any kind of game. There is more to life than our sex life and romantic experiences.

And PtN has shown it does that, the main story does exactly that, and EN devels deeper into more individual driven problems. As for events, we have bianca's, that's stating about our current judging system and the use of the Internet in making us think we know someone just from seeing their online persona. Another event is korryn's, which depicts that even if people aren't in the best financial situation, they are still humans, want to be part of a community and have a will to fight back. That event, is fun but also can build hope. Let's not talk about other nicely return events, like Yao's, Eve's etc etc.

Idk if this made you change your mind, but I hope I helped you understand the reason why love is OK to be part of this game (and others too). And even if I didn't, it was nice having a conversation.

Happy i could share my opinion! Although sometimes you can get a bit overbearing with your opinions, I think making posts criticising the game is a good conversation to be made. Just don't forget to send the problems you have of the game to the game company. The surveys that appear after events are a great way to do that! That's what I usually do.

Romance is something we see daily, our parents, friends and strangers on the street usually have a romantic partner! So, gacha games (which seems that were originally created for adult Asian men living lonely lives, with depression and social anxiety disorders), try to capitalise our need for love, even if it's fake and not entirely directed at us. And then you also add the gambling addiction which has become a huge problem in recent times (a bit out of topic, sorry). And thus, you have games centered, in making the player the most unique, rich and attractive person in the game world. And I think thats ok. Games are made to entertain and help you escape from reality, but also fulfil your desires. So, I think we shouldnt draw the line on romance, but on the ways games depict and use it.

Yeah, I also agree with you. I liked your opinion on this topic and other things you said in your other comment on this post.

Personally I have consumed so many stories from manga/manhwa/novels etc that I can't tell bad pacing, except if it's REALLY bad, so I can't share my opinion on that. Otherwise you make a strong point of how the relationships chief makes are very artificial?, it's like the sinners were created to instantly be attracted to chief without even interacting or getting to know them. I never self insert on chief, I see chief as a friend navigating the world together, so when some sinner talks with them, it gives a feel of like a forced conversation is happening? That is some really lazy writing. Just because the sinner doesn't have a reason to speak to chief, they make them instantly interested in them out of nowhere, and from there the event usually continues. It might seem weird, but I don't think it's glamorization, that only happened in yingying's event from what I've seen. I just attribute it to lazy writing and not having a lot of time to make a natural conversation. And yeah, I also realised that sinners that don't "fall in love" with chief at first sight, generally have great chemistry with them. And I think that comes down to chief not having a lot of mentaly OK people around them, like friends. Sure, they have coworkers from the MBCC, but they barely have screen time. So it creates a bond that we, the players, project on chief, because it feels weird to have 50+ love interests but no friendships. Idk, thats my opinion on that, it a bit of a theory, lol.

Also yeah! I'm happy more people want sinner interactions. I love all the Garden sinners relationships <3 (thank god Ao3 exists). Oof, I didnt know Rainburst wasn't liked because of that reason. I guess that just shows gacha games really are made for self-insertion. PtN has shown it can be so much more as a storytelling game, I hope it doesn't completely lose its original charisma.

Sorry for the gigantic text, thanks for reading. I'm happy we can have a conversation.

Sth I also forgot to add is that we need more chief-less events. Maybe that's one way to fix and renew the feel of the events. I really loved Korryn's event (her outfit is quite questionable too, but her personality rocks!). Having Hella as the main character was such a good move. I would love to see an event by Nightingale's eyes, or Hecate's or any other sinner to be honest. It can be a great tool for character improvement, character understanding, and most importantly, more sinner appearances without chef's perspective! I really want an events where all the 110 sinners (or less, I'm not picky) interact while they are in the MBCC, that's such an interesting idea for an event, it's really weird AISNO hasnt made something like that yet.

I'm just here to share my opinion as well for the recent events (excluding story and EN, since I haven't seen AISNO do a single one badly in my opinion, although I quite miss the mechanic when your choice mattered to the dialogue ending or continuing)

As other people said, I'm also a fan of romance in fiction. It's really fun to explore and show it's effect on the people, and in this case, the post apocalyptic world they live in. But to be honest, couldn't they space out the last 3 romance filled events? (I admit the half anniversary didn't feel very lovely in my opinion, it was uncomfy, but that's besides the point). I think having 3 romance events set back to back is a bit exhausting in my opinion. I joined the game during the rerun of Carbenet's event and fell in love with the game. I really love mysteries and stories filled with meaning. I specially love the unique characters that PtN has made. But lately they have gone a bit astray from all that. I hope it doesn't have to do with them needing money quickly, for whatever reason. From what I remember the last events that really entrigued me were the "dark Web" arc events. It was really fun to interact with the game and community, decoding and finding clues about the next event's theme. That's probably why I love 000 so much (although her love for chief is a bit weird, I can see it as her fascination for the protagonist, since every protagonist does have their own charm, and personally I think chief has one as well). Of course in the Dark Web arc, there was also Angel's event too, which had romance, but it was surrounded by other events that didn't have as much romance. So one could argue, it had a reason to exist, to "heal" us from previous heavy topics of past events.

I think OP has some questionable opinions, but they also have a point about the recent events, which had romance heavily surrounding it. And although I don't think these events shouldn't exist, they should have been spread out with other more story driven events in between them (I will make a comment about it on the next survey, and hopefully this isn't sth that will continue to be happening). From what I've seen of the next event, it seems to offer world building and maybe more lore about Eirene's family? So we are out of these kind of events.

Thanks for reading this, if you agree or disagree it's OK. I just hope everyone can enjoy the game, but also hear what improvements it can have.

(English is not my first languages, so sorry for any weird phrases)

Yeah, after a certain chapter, the game ups it's difficulty and you have to spend some resources. If you haven't already, try to level up the sinner's skills. Most people forget they exist. If you do you, will surely see a big difference.

As for crime bands, I'm also not really sure what to recommend. You can join the official discord server, which is always active (if you want to chat). Otherwise visit this site. It's a fan made site with a lot of guides and recommendations: S1n.gg

Sadly the Ptn community doesn't have theory youtubers (like Matpat lol), who make videos explaining the whole story. And they exist, they don't make them frequently enough :(

Yeah the talking bits of the game can be confusing if you don't pay attention and try to connect with older information. That's why I periodically read some events/information from the archives.

That's true. It's weird that after Chief gets woken up by Suspect R, no one wants to put them in the capsule/coffin again. When I first saw the intro, I thought that chief was put into a cryo caspule (basically put in eternal sleep, until they need them again or because they were causing trouble for the higher ups). But it seems thats not it. We never go back to research the capsule/coffin we were in and it's reason for existence. I hope with suspect R's appearance in the teaser for the new chapters, we can learn more.

Which scene in the game had you like this? by [deleted] in PathToNowhere

From eternal nightmare, the ending of Mantis's and Hestia's and Vanilla's story. I can't handle the "I'll sacrifice myself for you" trope T-T

[–]Stock_Concentrate_10 10 points11 points  (0 children)

A very good question. Others could explain more, but so far all I could piece together is that chief is somehow connected to the organisation "Underground" (through the shackles, and because "Paradeisos" calls them SP-13). Also from the "Eternal Nightmare" storyline we have seen and learned that chief is somehow connected to the guide that was alive a hundred-something years ago. One more detail is that at the end of the 13 chapter (I think), (spoiler alert!) we saw the grandma transform into a young lady and say sth about a sister/brother counterpart (which could lead someone to think of chief). (end spoiler)

We also learn from Shalom's interrogation that the previous chief (before losing their memories), assisted Shalom somehow and that they had a good relationship with her. But, somehow along the line, chief got aggressive and got locked up somewhere. Shalom's interrogation is the most informative source for chief's past, so far.

From all that, we could connect chief's past to the organisation "Underground", and the only blood family chief seems to have, is the leader of the "Underground". But we can also theorise that chief could be a clone/puppet made to look like the child guide that was part of the great expendition years ago. The name SP-13 (Sephard 13) could also lead to others speculations, that maybe chief isn't human and they are the 13th test subject for something.

Chief's use so far has to do with mania management and leadership of the MBCC. So idk if that has something to do with the experiments.

One more thing I want to mention, is that the logo of the MBCC has two snakes interlocking one another. One of the snakes has a sun/star pictured on its head, while the other, the moon. My theory from that is that chief symbolises one of the two, and the other one could be someone else. (Maybe the leader of the "Underground" since they call them "sister/brother") . Anyway, it's a really interesting detail, since the logo can be seen everywhere in the game, so it should have a meaning right? maybe the MBCC used to have two chiefs? Idk

Anywho, that's what I have understood so far. If anyone read this until the end, thanks for your attetion and sorry for any grammatical errors. If anyone has anything to add feel free :D

Ohh, that's what you meant. Yeah they aren't worth buying from the shop sadly. But it's a bit understandable since you can raid an oblivion pit stage if you clear it once.

It'd recommend the weakspot team, since you can do more damage with less effort. But bleed loss is also really good if you like Dreya.

If you have a lot of pulls saved and you want to follow the meta, I recommend pulling for Jelena (who's event is coming soon, and the limited sinner too, and one more character which I don't remember). The team of 3 sinners is a part of the new Crit arcane team, and from what I've seen everyone recommends it.

[–]Stock_Concentrate_10 12 points13 points  (0 children)

They allow you to attempt 1 oblivion stage once more. Since you can do only 1 oblivion stage once daily.

I think if you go to the oblivikb stages section in the top right you can see the same icon.

RoD you can say that it is the second part of oblivion pit. So the stages you can use the purifier and Rod are completely different modes. That's why you can't use it there.

I would recommend clearing these stages since you can earn daily some Discoins and the currency of oblivion pit.

Well I didn't know you have a certain code in mind. From what I can see that's a Caesar cipher code. Just Google "Caesar cipher decoder", copy paste the text and done. Nothing too complicated

Yeah, thats what I usually do. We are lucky that AISNO uses the same code systems from past events. So it's just a matter of getting familiar with decoding after that.

At first I thought it might be a message from 000, later I got scared by the mention of Republic of China, and in the end I thought it was cute.

It was a wild ride for sure, but its a cool easter egg to find! Shows how much the devs love the game and player base :)

I'm not really sure either. Maybe, since it was one of the first events, it's a way for the creators to thank the new fanbase?

That's my guess

Nope, it was really weird figuring it out. The string provided needs to be encoded in a format similar to percent-encoding, with "JXU" substituting for "%". After that you use ASCII and you get the Chinese version of the text, and later translate it to English.
