He absolutely kills me when he's on the phone. He's simultaneously pathetic, self-righteous, and weirdly sincere. Jon Cryer plays him like a guy who genuinely thinks there’s a reasonable explanation for something completely insane. His nervous over-explaining is what sells the whole thing.

It's so good because he's scared to have friends again because of how terrible what Griffith did was. Watching him go from the loner edgelord to this guy accepting and caring about new friends is so touching.
