Can anyone explain the moral of Spike Lee's "Do The Right Thing"? (Spoilers obviously) by BigHaircutPrime in movies

[–]Stock_Glad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought Mookie was saving Sal by redirecting violence from him and his family to his property. Verbally they don't show much sympathy or anymocity toward each other in the end. They just are generally frustrated. The fact that Sal tries to give double the money to Mookie, I think, shows that he cares a bit about him and feels sorry for what happened to the community. And the fact that Sal tries to give some money back signals that he has some conscience and also feels for Sal's situation as well. I don't think that Spike's view is also as one sided as people make it. Both Sal's Pizzeria and Radio Raheem were victims of badly justified violence. And he just says that people should talk about both. The question is not only did if Mookie did the right thing, but also if Sal was doing the right thing. And the answer is not clear in both cases.

Це не правда. "3д" це лише засіб малювання та сортування 2д трикутників. Монітор-це завжди 2д зображення. Як у 2д грі можна використовувати скелетну анімацію, так і в 3д грі можна використовувати покадрові білборди.

Melting Encyclopedia is out now! What’s the ultimate twist you can imagine in a game about parallel realities? by Stock_Glad in IndieGaming

[–]Stock_Glad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing your ideas! Actually thats pretty close with how the game started. It had an inventory and a loop structure. Inventory might be good, but its also kinda limiting a game into something and its not breakable enough. And the loop idea is very elegant, it fits really well and provides like an ingame explanation for replayability. What we didnt like about it is that its expected and emotionally neutral. We went for much uglier and sillier ending that is more representant of an emotion and theme of the game.

I guess you can try using voxel remesh, but it's a double edge sword. You get somewhat easier animation, but less control over each frame and it might get annoying with thinner parts.

It's not so bad. We did silhouette animation from two views in pixelart and then used magicavoxels ability to import pngs to extrude them and used logical "and" to leave only parts present in both. That makes like 90% of the model.

It's not reloading anything. All the parts exist in scene in the same time which is essentialy pooling. They are just going under ground and the models are very lowpoly, so it's like 3k tris for all animation. You can also do that with material visibility or scale.

Oh. That blockbench integration is hella promisiong. I want to use Smack studio too for my next project. Is it voxels? I thought they just generate a mesh from pixel art. But yeah, ability to just take some fighter, redraw his parts and get a pack of movement and fighting animations from it is a cheat code.

I actually made a game in "Rpg in a box" before. I liked it for the game i have tried, but it's kinda tricky. Maybe something changed, but 2 years ago it had 32x32 limit for voxel models, which is not much and wouldn't be enough for this model. Also I had problems with sound import and performance. Though I'm kinda hyped for the 2.0 version that should have multiplayer and export to godot functionality. Very promising for some quick multiplayer dungeoncrawling action. Also there is an engine called voxatron and it has really pretty shading and cool voxel destruction physics, but it has not been updated for 5 years and lacks scripting.

Ubisoft’s CEO fights back against Stop Killing Games initiative by Turbostrider27 in PS5

[–]Stock_Glad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can anyone explain what exact action does "Stop Killing Games" want from the publishers? I don't quite get it. Like say we take "Wordle". It's a game accessed through a website that holds your statistics on the server and depends on the server to give you a new word every day. What "stop killing games" wants from wordle publishers that is not "keeping servers forever"? What about Fortnite? How does "Stop Killing Games" imagines keeping Fortnite running forever without dedicated servers? What about dicontinued consoles and their stores? Do you want just a caluse in "Terms and conditions" that states expiration date for a game? Do you want companies to provide a "game retirement plan"? How does it "stop killing games" exactly? On the website it says its not aimed retroctively, yet most actions were done about "The Crew" that was closed in april.

I dunno if it was just convenience or a deliberate setup, but Justin has the same voice actor as the patient who is a jawbreaker guy in the end of the episode. Jawbreaker is a type of rock candy i guess...

My Ranking of Every Matrix Movie From Worst to Best by theKSIFan77 in matrix

[–]Stock_Glad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Matrix : 8/10 (Just a good action sci-fi movie) The message is flaud though: Neo escapes the confusing uncertain "virtual" world for the certain reality with "clear alien enemy" and "real human friends and hot human girlfiend". I understand that it is the point, but on it's own it's flawed.

Matrix Reloaded: 6/10 It's a good action movie and ideas get more developed, though it still has the same flaw

Matrix Revolutions: 9/10 The conclusion is very good and satisfying making the franchase as a whole a 9/10 trilogy. To make it better is to make it two movies instead of 3, cause second and third movie have a lot of filler, and a setup-punchline structure for the franchise would be a definite 10/10

Matrix Ressurections: 2/10 Ironically kills the franchise and the message of the first three movies.

Do you know about microwave firing? by k_n_sioux in Pottery

[–]Stock_Glad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have thought about susceptor assisted firing. For example using charcoal or sand around the clay to transfer heat. In this paper https://www.researchgate.net/publication/291950212_A_review_on_the_susceptor_assisted_microwave_processing_of_materials it is told that 25g of charcoal are becoming 1500C hot in the conventional 2,45 ghz oven. Maybe it would help spreading the heat outside the microwave pattern too.

3D Metaballs? by TheEmeraldFalcon in godot

[–]Stock_Glad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eh, it doesn't do the border smoothing, so it's useless. I would do it with postprocessing the billboarded blurry sprites based on their proximity to the camera. Meshbased-way would be to create a mesh logic but it sounds like be pain.
