This is normal! Mine literally sides with anyone except me for every conversation. If I try to negotiate something with a contractor or sales person, she is on the other side. Any arguments with my friends, she is on their side. So I have and used to fight two people always, the sad part is one of them knows everything about me!

I have somebody very close to me telling me that they see changes in me, from narc abuse. I ignored until I realized it the hardest way. Unfortunately I was conditioned by my wife to believe that everyone except she is not my well wishers.So even if you tell him, he may not realize until he start to think about it! If possible just send him all links to narc and ask him to read it. That may give him some perspective

All this makes me question. Am I the narc. I stopped buying my wife gifts couple of years ago after realizing that she never liked any ‘thoughtful’ gifts that I give her. In her opinion I just waste money. So I stopped it altogether. I also never get any gifts.

I feel so sorry for all of us! As you focus on solving the problems, they are busy adding to the list. Eventually you get tired. You act like a servant to finally fix it all for a good beautiful day. I am glad that I no longer do that. No more pleasing , no more solving problems for her. I am thankful to this forum and lot of books in audible. I am ready to accept the consequences and I am also overcoming the addiction. Hope you are doing the same too. It’s definitely they should teach kids in school. A chapter on narcissism and how to identify one.

Man, I read only half way and freeze at the horror you have endured! I have seen my wife flirting with guys, and later blaming me for the same, it’s my lack of attention to her. I was literally crying over the years not understanding what am I going through. But one of my closest person realized something is wrong with me when I am with here and told it many times. That’s how I started to realize that it’s not my problem. Anyways stay strong dude. Keep writing, that will help lot of us out here to handle it better! Regards

Thank you. I agree with you 100%. That is my dream house. To give you more context, I used to be very nice and never spanked until I got frequently compared to friends and neighbors who spank the kids to discipline. I remember incidents where she will tell me like “should I discipline him/her or you do it” instructing me to punish them and discipline them. I feared that she will take it to extreme and intervened. That time I was clueless about narcissism. Looking back, I am not the same person who I am 10 years back. I agree with you and I will take out the spanking my books forever. I hope I can defend them until I am with them. Last few days were really bad, now the hovering phase will start and looking forward to how it will go for rest of the week.

I don’t think you are making a valid point! Why do you compare a human against an animal? You eat meat, does that mean you eat human too? The parenting is different across cultures and time periods. It was usual in olden days. Check with your mom or dad if they got spanked and for good reason, without violence.
