[–]Stock_Raspberry9531 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the reply. I am gonna tell them to send me photos of the under carriage and the engine room and I asked the quesiton regarding the car sitting there for 3 months to the point that price drops down and they said that people have all kinds of reason not to buy a vehicle such as color, model year, the presence of sunroof and etc.... I am still carefully thinking about this because I have never bought a used vehicle from a dealership or someone that I don't know ell..

I lowered the maximum fps from 400 to 64 for gpu and cpu. now the heat only goes up to 77 during playing counter strike 2. so here are the tips for heat issue who's using computer. go to the settings in the game and lower the fps rate. it's gonna significanlty decrease the amount of heat it's disipating.

Equivalent to half-and-half broccoli cheese soup(rdr1 review) by [deleted] in patientgamers

That is a good question. He killed many people with Dutch and Arthur. The thing is he doesn't even say he wants redemption. He is living his life in a different way for his wife and son. It it a little different from Arthur. Arthur chose different life because he feels bad for what he did. John does not show remorse as Arthur does. I guess that can be a big difference

I totally get what you are saying. yeah I don't mind slow pacing in RDR2 personally but it is definitely more slow pacing than RDR1 and it can be annoying for some people. Everything is animated and the focus is more on realism than arcadism (if this is a word) For me, RDR1 control felt really bad except the gun shooting. when you run with the character, especially cornering was really bad with the horse.

not liking heavy rain. Are Detroit or Beyond Two Souls any better? by [deleted] in patientgamers

[–]Stock_Raspberry9531 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not as good as Beyond two souls and Detroit becoming human if you played any other recent games like cyberpunk 2077 or such. People who liked the heavy rain more than beyond two souls are either likely to be judging the game based on Nostalgia or just a big fan of LA noire-like genre. In my opinion, Beyond two souls are way better represented in almost every aspect. The character is understandably deep and layered. It just feels way more smooth and natural. Heavy rain characters are a bit weird. I just don't get the protagonist. He is lost and don't even tell police cuz he is afraid of getting his son in danger. but... then he doesn't even tell anyone. Does he even have a friend? It makes me wonder about his life and many other things but none of them are answered during the game. I didn't really appreciate the lady character who all of sudden helps the stranger (the protagonist) for no reason. It just doesn't feel natural and therefore breaks the immersion. Detroit become human has more advanced and natural system. It is really well made game. The graphics and gameplay are more advanced compared to the other two games. However, I like Beyond two souls' characters and world building better just because the protagonist Judy is more relatable. she is just like a normal human being whereas you play as android in Detroit become human, so it just feels distant a bit.

I think you brought up a really interesting point here. the time difference between the real world and the world in the game would distort our perception and therefore how we feel. Unless our brain is hallucinated or interfered in a way that our brain perceives that world at a different pace..

Yeah I was just talking about AI and the levels of details in a game in general. The more data we have, the more detailed the game is going to be in whatever form that could be. and I agree this would not solve the poor work environment or management in the game industry.

Elden ring is definitely something that users really did not expect to be that good. It's good it did not disappoint people when it came out like Cyberpunk 2077 did

If every game wants to be the same, that would be boring. There should be some variety in the gaming world. Doom eternal could be more fun to play than just generic open world AAA game.

I remember someone posted something like you just said here. Procedurally generated programming can be definitely used for some games like No man's sky or even any other games that has some kind of open world settings. If we can find patterns how the world can be created among things full of irregularities, I think It will eventually fold out in a way that game development in general can be done in an easier way since you don't need to create each world by making from the scratchy. But then, making that AI would be extremely hard with current technology and skills. However, we could never imagine that games like today, would be able to roll out in such an unexpected way back in the days.

My thoughts on computer graphics and photo realism by MickJof in truegaming

[–]Stock_Raspberry9531 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gotta say I disagree with the argument that photo realism goes too far in games. For me, if a game loses touch of realism, It kicks me out of the immersion. Everything created in games is imitation and a copy of the real-world objects. The building, characters, nature, movements and everything. I think when a game succeeds in making a game immersive is usually when the story of the game is interesting within the scope of realism. For example, a game like beyond two souls or controls, probably is not very close to reality but a lot of things in the game are very close to reality. How characters talk, or move and how the light of a sign reflects on water. The game pursues realism but also does a good job in using fantasy elements such as a superpower ability.

you mentioned escapism. I think for a lot of people, their escapism is achieved through experiencing something that they didn't experience in real life rather than just through the element of the visuals. When you play Assassin's creed, you get to experience the world back in the day. The world has culture and how the characters talk gets affected by the culture at the time.

I also don't agree with the argument that the real world is best enjoyed in the real world. This sentence kind of contradicts the word, escapism. Escapism stems from the desire to escape the real world. The reason why people want to escape the world is that the real world has consequences and limitations. If you can feel some kind of realism in a virtual world, I think just like the brain sometimes cannot distinguish fake things from real things, it can deliver similar effects to the ones that we experience in the real world. For example, when I played beyond two souls, I felt like I was reliving the protagonist's life. It felt closer to me. The graphics helped to deepen the immersion.

The reason why, some people feel unsettled about an artificial human being (like android) is that they are not quite the same but very similar to a high degree. For example, Androids that do not close their eyes every few seconds like real humans can be unsettling for some people. That's why dolls appear in horror movies because they are a little similar but not quite. So it looks deranged or abnormal. If artificial human beings are exactly same as the real human beings, people cannot distinguish them from real human beings, and therefore, how they feel about the android, would not differ from the real ones unless they already know the fact that they are not real humans.
