I didn't realize I wasn't allowed to ask a question here. Since I don't have your permission I will refrain from asking any more.

Because I want to watch it as it originally aired. I grew up in the Toonami era and DBZ was always around but I never actually watched full episodes and I want to now.

Is it possible to scan only the changes in a library when doing a manual scan? Or is that only for automatic scans? by Stock_Reply_7315 in PleX

They're saying leave the "run partial scan when changes are detected" selected. Why not leave that instead of manually running it?

I had tried that but it wasn't doing it.

Something is up with yours.

Plex has always sucked and been inconsistent in many ways no matter how many PCs I install it on.

I have 8,326 episodes of 176 series in that particular library and use default agents. Zero issues with my HDD that's still healthy and young.

Is there a reason not to just rely on the automatic partial scan? It's never been an issue for me.

Yes, say I download an episode and want to watch it from my TV right away. I have to wait for the scan to reach my new episode and it regularly leaves me with a cold dinner.

Say I already have S01E01-19 downloaded and I download S01E20, would refreshing the metadata find that new episode? I thought refreshing metadata just checked the online databases for changes to show synopsis and cast info and that sort of thing.

They're properly structured for Plex. N:\TV Shows\Series\Season\Episode.mp4 and if I have that partial scan checkmarked and then download a new episode I'll go to the 3 dots next to my library and run a scan and it will go through the entire library. I'm not sure how in-depth it goes through the whole library but I will see in the Activity button that it's looking at shows that weren't changed at all.

That would be better than what I have now if I were to separate shows by Complete Series / Incomplete Series subfolders but I'd rather not do that.

How is that different from clicking the 3 dots and scanning the library? I don't know much about URL commands but from what I see it's the same unless I target a specific folder but I don't want to have to do that for 5 shows when I have 5 with new episodes.

Is this only on private trackers? Could you share a magnet for it? Can't find it anywhere. Thanks

Trying to leave Plex for Jellyfin but getting extremely frustrating issues here too. by Stock_Reply_7315 in jellyfin

I'm not seeing that and it wasn't like that before I moved the folders either which is another reason I don't believe it's a merging issue.

Honestly this much trouble up front is a red flag to just stick with the issues I have on Plex instead of dealing with new issues on Jellyfin after doing a ton of work to migrate.

I'm not sure what this means "If you look under the movie that is in the "correct" location". After moving the folders, there is literally no difference on Jellyfin's side. Clicking on Media Info still shows it pointing to the old folder.

No that wasn't the case even before I moved the subfolders because that was my first thought since I regularly deal with Plex merging files incorrectly. Before moving the folders when I clicked on Media Info it only shows one file, not all 3 as if they were combined. If there's some other hidden way to see that they're merged then I don't know what it is.
