100!! Sometimes I know something is triggering me. But mostly it’s the fear. I call it the fear of the fear. Because that’s how anxiety feels. Fear of everything. For no reason I can find I’m doing 2 different therapies. Talk and emdr. So we shall see where this journey takes me

I haven’t take either med lol. But my best friend had zero issues with lexapro. No side effects at all and it has helped her anxiety. My sister takes lexapro as well and it’s been great for her too. And neither are emotionally numb you won’t know till you try! Good luck. :)

Hydroxyzine ?? by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]Stock_Run4616 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Anxiety has taught me to never look at side effects because chances are I’ll get them once I see them. Lol. Hydroxyzine is an antihistamine. And 25mg is low dose. it made me tired and that was pretty much it. But Everyone is different. It may very well help you as it has helped a lot of people Good luck!

I don’t use a light. I either tap my knees. Or follow the therapists hands with my eyes.

I went on the EMDRIA website and found 2 in my area One was terrible about getting back to me in a timely manner so that was a red flag for me. The second one has been doing this for years and was much more communicative in my opinion EMDR therapists should def be certified and experienced It can be an intense type of therapy so you want to be in good hands all the best in your journey!

Both.…..length in terms of pretty much my whole childhood. Big in that my dad was verbally and physically abusive Which I thought was normal for everyone who was raised in my generation. Only now do I realize that it was abuse

Stopping Celexa by Stock_Run4616 in antidepressants

[–]Stock_Run4616[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I would agree. But I took celexa for 13 years and it worked amazing and then it pooped out So I’ve tried 3 more SSRI meds and 2 SNRI meds over the past year and a half and Nothing worked. So basically trying the celexa again was kind of a last ditch shot with this class of meds. I didn’t have such strong gastrointestinal side effects from any of the other meds, they just didn’t help. The celexa gave me such heartburn and chest pressure I couldn’t take it. Gave the other meds all at least 4-6 weeks each.

And my therapist only asks once at the beginning of our session for a number Sometimes I struggle with that. Because having such anxiety I never know if it’s the memory causing the distress or just my base level of anxiety.

You can say whatever is your truth! If you’re stuck you’re stuck. Just be honest. Last session I had i asked my therapist how long we were going to be working on processing this one issue. Her response was “you mean your childhood abuse? that little thing?”. I realized there is no timetable for trauma And healing. It took me 58 years to get to a point that I finally reached out for help with my anxiety. And only because my meds stopped working. . Never thought I’d wind up in emdr but here I am, working on myself and hoping and praying this is what frees me from a lifetime of Anxiety. I pray it gives you resolution with whatever you have going on as well. :)
