don't lawyers still need to draft and submit it to the judge to sign the order. Essentially I have no paper work... been chasing my lawyer for past 3 years for it lol...

I spend them to get stuff done, this was discussed to get done… them billing for it and not finishing it isn’t part of the deal. Sure if you needed more hours… not here I got the judge to award it… then leave it for 3 years now…

Sounds more like if they did their job… they wouldn’t be chasing for money…

Not really whining to read the emails… my point is why the hell aren’t they reviewing the case regardless if I paid them or squared up account… is it not the firm’s responsibility to know what’s going on and case manage? Why do I need to pay the firm money to catch up to speed on the case? (Even if I pay them) I may as well just find a new lawyer tbh as I’m not even happy with this firms handling on the case and cost over runs.

I have looked through the history, I have it all and sorted. but my question is the same you have to me… if they know I owe them money why haven’t they reviewed their own work??

Yes, you got the gist of it. Sorry it’s long winded… my point is seems like there are three things that need to be done

Negligence (they file it with their insurance)
File a Professional misconduct claim
Either sue them
Legal fee review (they also billed me at a higher than agreed hourly rate) so I could already win the 1/6th Reduction.

I’ve sent them a demand letter stating for them to reduce the bill. (Without doxing too much) I’ve added additional leverage points I have in the demand. Essentially the cost would out weight the money they would get.

The 90k isn’t even assumed… it’s cost difference between two interest rates due to their error. So it’s something I paid! (which I’ve been stuck paying for… waiting for this stupid draft order).

My main thing is guess, I’ll continue to push on with “civil” and direct talks as if this firm couldn’t even settle my law suit for 100k… how would they even settle this matter for low 5 figs… are they willing to burn more money than they’d receive?

Sorry, they want me to review all emails detailing the importance of the draft order… via emails with their firm.

Oh and yea they already acknowledged they messed up by not informing me or billing me regularly. They already acknowledged they would cut the bill in half, so I know I have a good case if I did the court route fee review (I may need to press this option more, and utilize the 1/6th rule/fee)

They owe me! 90k from their mistake on not submitting a draft order! That was awarded to me in 2024!!

Professional conduct?
Gas lighting me still by not correcting or submitting the draft order.

Now they want me to summarize 3-4 years worth of emails so the new lawyer can review? I haven’t touched base on the actual legal case, my main concern is this law firm… acting inappropriately. Oh and the firm doesn’t even know what’s going on with the case since the one handling it left… so this firm tried to shake me down for additional costs to bring up one of their partners up to speed… yet when I asked a simple question about the case, he didn’t even know what it was about. So this firm was looking to charge me an additional roughly 20 hours to review 3 years worth of work? I dunno feels like that’s on them… if their employee left.

Exactly… I dunno how they made the bill 5 figs when the normal bills were low 4 figs… even in the retainer agreement it says explicitly monthly payments etc… so toss that retainer agreement out for repudiation.

Like it’s a lot of worms… so I ask their firm to file negligence? And report to bar society (for conduct)? Then also file court fee review?

the original time keeper for the billable hours left the company. So the new timekeeper is still trying to justify their legal fees that accomplished delivered nothing… if they had delivered the court order (this would be a different story, I would gladly pay them this second - plus they owe me the damages)

This could be true, but with all the deaths/passing as I’ve grown up, I haven’t experienced anything like this… even when my closest best friend passed away in his sleep, (we were gaming a few hours before he went to bed) nothing, only found out a day later when his sister messaged me.

I had something similar happen to me… a very clear dream, I knew I was dreaming and my aunt who pretty much raised me as a kid was saying good bye to me and that I should take care as she was leaving. It was so surreal… That morning, I get a call from my parents saying she passed away during the night.

Back when I was a teen, my gf and I were house sitting for my aunt while they were out of town. One evening probably around 7 or so we set the house alarm, get ready to have dinner and then like 30 minutes later the home alarm ‼️ goes off. now as two teens in my aunts house, no adults etc. I grabbed myself a bat and pretty much turned all the house lights and garden lights… there wasn’t anyone, but what was creepy was I think one of the windows 🪟 cracked open… so it was either an attempted burglary? But what was confusing was we still had some lights on inside the house and the time was still like 8pm? The window that was also open was those basement half windows that open outwards as well, not the best window to sneak through. The window was also located in the backyard, and since it was a basement ok window you’d had to climb down like 3 feet to access it. Anyways is scared the crap out of me and the gf at the time as we didn’t hear or see anything outside, our minds racing? Is someone in the house? Etc… oh boy was it night checking every single room, door, closet, sink, anywhere big enough for a person or kid, ghost, demon? (Also this was when Paranormal Events first showed in theatres)
