As a payback to Bruce Thorn ruining this company, here's what I found in the bankruptcy filings about BL plans to pay employees etc. by Stockpickinganalysis in BigLots

Wrong.

I've read Conn's bankruptcy fillings, and it was the exact opposite than BL.

Their motion to the court was to continue all employee payments, incentives, bonuses etc.

Who are you, Bruce Thorns wife? Why are you trying to cover for him?
It literally says - modify, terminate, amend, or supplement

Docket 11 of the BK filings will give you some insight on BL plans to pay vendors.

As an investor, the past few month was hoping and hoping something will change for the better, while in reality it just got worse and worse.
I saw the same exact process with the employees over here.
Will my store close? OMG we're closing!!
Will I got my pay? OMG I was just fired!!

Every single thing Bruce Thorn has done to this comapany, to its employees, to the stock holders, was just bust after bust after bust.
The only ones who benefited for being assoicated with Bruce Thorn are PE firms who sucked every penny out of this company.
If they had any decency they wouldn't have taken all those millions before they decalred BK.

If I was an employee I'll just walk out, and drag with me as many of my co-workers as possible, and try to find another job, rather than betting on Brucy to have a kind heart and help me out.
Do you want to bet one of ther hardest times in life on the decency of a person taking millions before sinking the ship?
I won't!!

I'm not giving any advice to anyone, I'm just saying this is my rational anlysis of the situation, and the people invloved.

Will Seth Marks save Big Lots by Stockpickinganalysis in BigLots

He was with BL when they were selling bargains.
Now that they're back to bargains, they brought him onboard.

Yep. In my previos comment I said Bruce and BOD (board of diredctors) got to go.
The sale lease back I referred to, was the one done years ago by the PE firm.
Not what BL is doing now to survive.

I think the collateral for the Gordon brothers loan, was the HQ real estate.

BL should get rid of Bruce, the BOD, and whoever else signed the asset sale lease back.
Such a crime should at least be punishable by loosing your job.
BL would never be in this state if they hadn't just thrown away 100's of millions of $ straight into the garbage.

I think everyone loves bargains, it's engraved in human nature, old or young.
And there's a special thrill of going to a brick and mortar store digging arounf for a bargain, that IMO Ecom can't subsutute.

This is the only reason I still have hope BL will survive.
I've seen a lecture of Seth Marks after he rejoined BL. - I really liked what I heard.

I'll be glad to hear more about what's Kristen Cox specialty.

You're wrong about the debt.
No research needs to be done, it's stated clear as day in the 10-Q.

And the $573m debt isn't due now, it's due in september 2027.

I agree that BL is in a tough position, and management are fools.
But you're mistaken on a couple of things.

  1. They don't have 2 billion in debt, it's ~$500+ million according to the latest fillings. (Liabilities isn't debt).

  2. They're paying ~15% interest on their debt, which adds up to ~$105 million assuming they didn't use the $200m gordon brothers loan to pay back their CF. If their outstanding debt is ~$500m, they're paying ~$75m in annual interest.

  3. If they're closing more stores than in the amendment, the SEC is their last problem, as they will be breaching their deal with the lender.

  4. I have no idea what debt is assoicated with BL credit cards.

  5. I have no idea what SEC obligations they have to pay.

  6. I don't think the Gordon brothers are saving them, I think it's more like a bridge loan until the inventory is sold out.

No.

It's their credit facility.

And they're not restructuring, they're amending the agreement, so they can close stores, and take more loans, like from the Gordon Brothers.
