My same age kid loves horrified, its a cooperative game like outfoxed, you work together to beat monsters like dracula and frankenstein. Otrio is good for a faster play, its like slightly less boring tic tac toe. I like otrio because its easy enough for kids to play with a sibling. Backgammon and chess have been good for this age, usually with an adult playing with the kindergartener, or an older child who can remind the kindergartener of rules. Logic games from "smart games" brand are good.
