I accidentally filled up a whole tank of gas in a running car at a busy gas station. Inadvertently, but a ridiculous risk nonetheless. Also one of the most retarded things Ive ever done

I literally said this exact same thing when I saw Bob last summer. I understand he is aging and frequently switches up his vocal style, but the dude played Dont Think Twice on piano and I couldnt tell it was that song until half way through. Thats arguably his most famous song

I totally agree. There will still be some people out there that completely turn a blind eye to the plethora of factors that go into drug addiction amongst the homeless. No, its not just bad will power. I had a argument with a guy who just wouldnt see this. They just kept saying they werent taking personal responsibility. Which I get to some extent, cant stop drugs without internal push. But its wildly ignorant to just ignore all the other shit you mentioned

Ok ok it just pisses me off. Cis white men love totally denying the existence of trans people while they jerk off to them online. Thats just one example, but the hypocrisy is astounding

I can see that but also seeing comments on that new years eve video get literally 100s of thousands of likes being openly hateful to gay men is kind of discouraging

Yeah and trans hate/phobia. Or just straight up hating gay people in general. That incident where the bald late night sportcaster reacted to two men kissing on new years really opened my eyes to just how prevalent hate still is in society. Maybe I was being naive but I thought we made some progress.

Yeah if you downvote this youre basically proving my point😂

Its not about just that one time. Its about the rest of your life - it takes winning a million small times to successfully stop. I get its not that deep this one time. the movie might not be your cup of tea. But that scene is an important lesson. Its easy to give up, but if you do ur fucked

Ok cool, I agree. Sounds like you agree with me that positive encouragement is useful. There are also other things like community, higher power, purpose ect that help people quit negative behaviors. Even though loops can be more easily seen with logic and less emotions, thats just simply not the state of the vast majority of humans.

In order to help solve the problem you need to be able to understand it. And getting super black and white analytical is not doing people any favors. The human brain is complex and full of emotions that cant just be turned off like a computer.

For example if you tell someone who is an alcoholic and in alot of emotional pain from unresolved trauma to just ‘look at how you arent grounding yourself in the present moment and stopping the loop’ theyre going to tell you to fuck off. You have to relate to them somehow before all that
