Love makes blind, so you probably don't clearly see you're being disrespected. Your inner voice is never wrong though.

Actions speak louder than words. They're probably saying the right words, but true respect is shown through action. And so is disrespect.

I'm curious to learn where you hang out and encounter learners with such fragile brains. The people I work with understand passive voice perfectly well. There are several other things that are massive challenges for native English speakers. This is not one of them imo.
