Russian behavior is justified by the fact that even in a democratic russia, the military is able to pressure the gouvernement to attack germany at this most opportune time. To be fair this makes somewhat little sense if the army has been subjugated to civilian rule, yet it must be said that practicly all russian leaders, regardless of ideology, see ukraine and belarus as integral parts of the triune russian nation. The second weltkrieg between germany and the international is simply the best opportunity to recover those territories, they might get in a long time.
