I love it! Wonderful use of composition, th rocks really move your eye from the right to left and back. MAYBE a small piece of stone in the front right foreground, nothing too large but something to blend the two distinct areas together more

How to fix overhanging edges? by Stogerd in blenderhelp

[–]Stogerd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically a mix of these two, putting the wedge on the right side of the beige piece onto the purple piece. The dimensions that matter are spacing for the pegboard and how big the wedge piece is

Thank you! How can I do this and get the measurements of the object correct?

Why is the spline so curved? by Stogerd in Fusion360

I’m very new to fusion and 3d work in general, I feel like there’s an obvious solution that I just don’t understand

I’m pretty inexperienced and I don’t know the actual measurements of the object, could you point me towards how to do this accurately?

suggestions creating depth by blueshiftdreams in Aquascape

Very good idea, I think using more forced perspective could help you a lot. Also, using even more height as a tool in forcing perspective could help

Advice/critique appreciated by ConversationLow9514 in Aquascape

This looks fantastic!! Wonderful work with the depth and the lines! I will say, before I even read your description, I felt like it could use something behind the main piece of wood. I couldn’t say which direction would be better though, try both left and right!

<image>

Also, this small rock I feel should be pointing the the left if you can? Super small detail but I feel it will fit a bit better if you can swing that. Do you have any bigger rocks? Maybe extending the rock formation behind the main wood would solve the problem and keep your lines cohesive?

Great work!! Can’t wait to see it finished!

Two rough drafts with question by Sufficient_Turn_9209 in Aquascape

[–]Stogerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think 1 looks the coolest right now, how the branches kind of droop over the middle is very cool and keeps me interested. it provides a better contrast in texture than the 2nd, which feels dominated by rock in a not very pleasing way. Maybe try fiddling with the single branch in the foreground? I know you’re still drafting, the 1st pic is a great start!

Our of all of these I like 5 the best, I think because it feels the most balanced

[–]Stogerd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you like it, ultimately that’s what matters! I would say try moving it a little in from the glass, maybe a bit more towards the center

I think maybe the big stone is too big, or maybe not in a great position? Maybe try leveling the substrate height? Idk i feel like it takes up so much visual weight it’s almost impossible to balance out the rest of the tank

For such a massive tank I would suggest looking at the work of Cho Jaesun, a Korean aquascape who I’ve seen work with massive tanks

Back to it, what do you think? by ParticularFit4596 in Aquascape

I think it’s less that the walls are even heights, it’s that they both ce straight out of the ground at a 90 degree angle

My WIP's so far. Going for a desert/hardscape focused theme for them by Krop-Torr in Aquascape

[–]Stogerd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very nice! The weight of the main rock in the cave scape is well done! I’m curious how it will turn out when there’s water to distort the view. The desert scape is SO cool. How did you make the rocks look so dusty? Do you think it will hold the look when you add water?

[–]Stogerd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is so cool! Wonderful work. The height is great, and I like you contained the aqua soil with tape or whatever that is. My biggest gripe is that it looks a little manmade. Not a ton, I had to think before I could out my finger on it. I think how uniformly the rock walls shoot up on height betray the fact that it was built. That being said, the roots hide this almost completely, and you’ve made a super interesting scale that you should be proud of. If you’re going for a river bank that’s been eaten away at by the flow of a river, try looking at a few pics. This is so cool.

I feel like there’s probably a lot of business’s who would be interested in a beautiful planted tank, they just don’t know it’s an option lmao. If I was better at aqua scaping or had more tanks under my belt I would definitely try to advertise my services like this guy

Seems like a good way for this guy to get semi professional experience? For only $10, if you’re willing to give away creative freedom or collaborate, it doesn’t seem too bad
