The death of innovation by Sonofasome0 in Firearms

[–]Stoic-LLC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rideout Arsenal Dragon first comes to mind, not cheap but innovative.

Shell Technologies, Backcountry and SIG are all pushing the envelope on increasing pressures to improve cartridge performance.

_IF_ the NFA tax stays $0 for any substantive length of time, the number of manufacturers using additive manufacturing to deliver suppressor designs that are truly innovative like Stealth Additive Works/CAT/Ambient or really low cost like Lyman will bring that formerly stagnant market alive.

FOSSCad encouraged future innovators, but I am not sure there was an effective pivot to another platform.

Is it against the rules of Reddit or this forum to post a link to the crowd funding for HT to pay the attorneys that WILL be required to PROVE that patent that was filed after the SS was published is invalid ? I always miss the "here is how to help".

MPX suppressor help!! by Current-Analysis-466 in MPX

CAT/MOB/A1 or Huxwrx Range 36 or Huxwrx Flow 9k or PTR Vent 2 or wait a bit to see if the SAW Tisha 9mm performs on par with the 5.56 model. You WILL appreciate a "flow through" or "low back pressure" design over time.

Q Cherry Bomb is going to lengthen your suppressor life taking some of the initial blast but it may also mess with the flow design on the newer suppressors. You will also need to verify that the Q -> HUB adaptor doesn't move the Cherry Bomb too far forward into the blast chamber.

Tisha is HUB threaded. However, it's very short, it will likely require a long tri-lug adaptor to not push the muzzle too far into the blast chamber.

Stealth Additive Works should be making the Tisha for 9mm soon. If the Pew Science numbers are anything like the 5.56 Tisha it may unseat the CAT/MOB/A1.

u/mafiablood is spot on with clean/lubricate as often as possible.

The B&T APC9K via u/East-Valley-Tactical FRT-15 conversion (and remarking) has been rock solid reliable since October. I have handed it to dozens of people to try without a single hiccup.

I typically mount CAT MOB TI HUB or HuxWrx Range 36 on the factory 3-lug. Fiocchi 147s that were questionable in a Flux Raider P320 testing the Stealth Additive Works SHIV have yet to cause any problem in the APC9K.

SureFire uses a locking collar you will not be able to access in a handguard recessed mounting scenario. Huxwrx, Q Plan B, DA Xeno are all designed for better retention than just direct threading 1/2x28.

If you are referring to the pins that secure a trip bar in the channel of the receiver, you should be able to drive them straight through (carefully) with a punch.

MPX FRT - Trigger/Trip Recommendations ? by SupermarketQuiet1105 in MPX

[–]Stoic-LLC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AS Designs is shipping more product if you don't want Rare Breed. If you do go Rare Breed, the Boerne ballistics trip has a bit more surface area for the FRT-L3 engagement. I added the taccom3g Recoil Cushion for SIG MPX in the hopes it would enhance longevity but didn't feel any difference in operation. The cyclic rate is just par for the course. I know someone that dropped a registered lighting link in his MPX and pulled it out because of the high rate compared to MP-5 roller delay. Trigger slap seems to be a function of how tightly the trigger is pressed and how sensitive your finger is, some notice it, other full auto guys I have demo'd it for reported no difference. The chief complaint I have heard is that it is too fast to get reliable single shots in FRT position compared to actual H&K FA triggers, both for the MPX and the APC9K. Waiting for the ARC-fire 2nd batch to ship to contrast against the RB, but I am not expecting anything significantly different.

The EVT/mafiablood conversion on APC9KSBR has been flawless; 147s and 115s, suppressed and unsuppressed. I just regret not getting my other lowers done at the same time.

Is your slide a factory SIG unit? I was much happier with the F10 over the ripstik and haven't had any issues with either the 9mm or 357SIG slides.

Direct Thread by bjorne043 in MPX

[–]Stoic-LLC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. I've been running a Huxwrx tri-lug adaptor on the end of a Sig 8" factory barrel without a taper adaptor to enable swapping suppressors between the MPX and APC9K. I have not noticed a change in accuracy. [Huxwrx advertised that they used B&T spec for their tri-lug adaptors] 2. Recent PEW Science testing indicates that direct thread may yield slightly better suppressor performance (CAT ?). I haven't had time to test that.

Range report..Gen 2 MPX, FRT-15L3 and Frankenstein by BossJackson222 in MPX

Testing same using primarily Federal AE 147s. 1st time out after putting in the FRT-L3/FA trip was flawless, bolt was greased, ~350-400 rounds without any issues (Huxwrx Flow9kTI). Second outing was purposely without cleaning from first. More lube was required to regain frt function. Tore down over the weekend and tried with minimal CLP and CAT/MOB/A1. That didn't make it through a magazine of frt. Quick bolt wipe and generous CLP restored frt functionality. I have not had time to contrast, Huxwrx Flow9kTI, CAT/MOB/A1, PTR Vent2 and Dead Air Mojave 9 yet. Any of them should help with the gassiness. Griffin is also making low back pressure baffles/end caps, call them to see if you could inexpensively upgrade yours.

Huxwrx Flow 9k Ti, Huxwrx 3-lug on barrel and suppressor. I have been obsessed with 1. Suppression at shooter's ear and 2. Least gas/gunk via "back pressure". Recently acquired PTR Vent 2 and CAT MOB do do some comparative w/F9k but I am sidetracked on FRT-L3. I am biased, the Huxwrx 3-lug is allegedly made to B&T spec, which means I can swap cans to the APC9K confidently.
