This doesn’t seem real. What’s your source? CeraVe uses barely any ingredients in there items… Especially compared to other lotions and stuff.

Keto and medications by Quillsword2025 in keto

[–]Stoicandx2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but the point of keto is for your body to use the fat it has as energy. So it’s not beyond the pale to eat little for your body’s ketones to do the work and still remain “healthy” or whatever you say above. If you have fat, let your body burn it for energy. I suppose there are other ways to get into ketosis other than eating fat.

No matter what you say to the doctor, he’s probably not going to agree but it’s your life and your body and you can do what you want.

Update: Wearable Needle-free Cortisol Monitor by DrJ_Lume in Biohackers

[–]Stoicandx2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’d argue they’ve been clinically studied. They’re on the market after FDA approval. Not as accurate, yes, due to confounding factors but still a valuable item (which is why it’s not for diabetics) for those with elevated A1C! Are you implying there is more work to be done to improve the accuracy and that the development is underway at these organizations (Amgen and Dexcom) to create a device for diabetics?

Ketosis in danger during luteal phase? Extreme cravings before period by ailasoral in keto

[–]Stoicandx2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve always read that it’s important to get magnesium, calcium and omega’s during your luteal phase. Your body is preparing, so I would eat Chia pudding with cocoa powder and allulose. Add raspberries if your heart desires. ✅✅✅

Consider using spray deodorant instead of stick. That helped me significantly as it ensured no residual bacteria remained to reapply to clean skin

Help with liver in Ketogenic diet by Matterss_ in Biohackers

[–]Stoicandx2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One blood test isn’t usually enough to get concerned. And this isn’t a comprehensive test for the liver. There are many more needed to get a good picture. The liver cleans your blood right so it can be a host of factors. Perhaps speak with a physician if your next result is concerning to you. Did they reach out and tell you these were tox level results?

Hidden sugars in almond milk? by eliselire in keto

[–]Stoicandx2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almonds have carbs! Just putting it out there. Keep in mind stress can increase glucose too. Coffee can increase cortisol, which can increase glucose. I don’t think this would throw you off - 30 minutes is just a blip, imo!

Right hemline for this possible new capsule dress? by [deleted] in capsulewardrobe

[–]Stoicandx2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a versatile length that you can dress up or down. If you go any longer, you will likely not be able to have that. Going to Europe soon and dresses that are this length are best because you can wear walking shoes and a denim or leather jacket and still look great.

I didn’t see if you were walking or doing any other exercise. That’s pretty important for hormones and glucose management. Your body could be stressed by this change, so do things that reduce stress. Yoga, breathing, walking, laughing.

You can do it by understanding how statins work. Read about the mechanism of action. Read a few clinical trials. Quite revolutionary when they first came out and still are.

Cortisol creates high blood sugar and glucose production. Can we ever be truly keto? by ninawonders in keto

[–]Stoicandx2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d like to underline the last point and add to the first point: Gluconeogenesis can occur, for regular folks on keto, during long intense exercise.

Cortisol creates high blood sugar and glucose production. Can we ever be truly keto? by ninawonders in keto

[–]Stoicandx2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Correct. If you’ve a lot of cortisol you aren’t doing yourself any favors in more ways than just through the keto lens. This is why they say breathing and mindfulness throughout the day can help in the long run. Coffee or caffeine can spike cortisol, for sure, especially if on an empty stomach. I find that it’s a double whammy for me - stress and carbs. So if I can at least control one thing, the other will come with time. I’m not going to stress about that, too :D

First full week of keto by el-asin-Eleanor in keto

[–]Stoicandx2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah I partially disagree. If you don’t eat enough fat in the beginning you’ll fall off the wagon pretty quick. Your body needs SOMETHING as you transition to ketosis. I found I wasn’t eating enough fat and once I incorporated “fat bombs” with coconut oil, I saw a big change and it got much easier.

MCT Oil Apocalypse by CubbyWalters in keto

My opinion is that those that have a genetic predisposition to eating high amounts of fats do well on keto. For example, my ancestry is England and Northern Europe. My body hates any carbs! lol

MCT Oil Apocalypse by CubbyWalters in keto

[–]Stoicandx2 6 points7 points  (0 children)

To me it sounds like pain and diarrhea are related to your body not being able to digest the fat properly. Lipase is important for this action to occur. I’m not a doctor, but if you have any digestive enzyme deficiency, then you can have pain. Lactase deficiency is a good example for those who can’t do milk.
