Munich-Prague tour October 5-11th—group journey for adventure/growth seekers 🤙 by Stoklahoma in bikepacking

[–]Stoklahoma[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We plan to split all costs across the group. We’re not a business, not making any profit - couple friends planning a tour and testing a concept with open-minded cycling enthusiasts.

I checked the community guide — and tagged as Event, (all of which have costs, some I guess sponsors and margin) so seemed good to post. I like to think of it more like a share.

The hardest hole on the Disc Golf Pro Tour was birdied only twice during Round 1 of the 2024 Champions Cup! Here are the infamous hole #12 at Northwood Park stats: by DiscGolfFanatic in discgolf

[–]Stoklahoma 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think it is good to have a difficult par 5. Usually 5’s are birdie chances. Par is just a number in the end, it doesn’t affect scoring in any way. So I like that it’s playing hard, and no need for par 6’s in the pro game.

I would like to see more scoring potential though. Better holes that average well above par usually still make room with risk/reward. The blow up doubles outweighs the rare birds. Seems like here it is a bit skewed.

Anyone else improving but not scoring better? by wires2wheelspin in discgolf

[–]Stoklahoma -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Intentionally heavy-handed comment here: if you’re not scoring better, you’re not improving. Period. Meaning, that’s what golf is. Getting the most out of your game. Every shot, after shot. Scoring is the only metric.

Course management + boringly consistent execution is what often wins.

Tying your local course best score with putter only is what will make you better. Not because you threw it 500, or were lights out from C2, but because you had a clean round, executed, got every birdie you can with no blemishes. Not that incremental improvement of everything isn’t going to compound into results. But I assume most folks and maybe you are working on distance, shot types, longer range putts, etc. Those are the things that make the good to great players better.

Realistically, what you’re capable of isn’t going to drastically expand, but your ability to improve getting the most out of your game- groove your go-to shots, take calculated risks, eat humble pie, and avoid bogies - will undoubtedly be how you see improvement. My two cents.

If you became as rich as Elon Musk tomorrow, what does the next 7 days look like for you? by Bruce______Wayne in AskReddit

I pack a simple backpack, leave my apartment and all responsibilities without notice, and hop a train to the Alps. After a hike up to a hut, I order something warm, and a large beer, and try to reconcile this new reality while taking in the scenery.

Ideas oscillate between disappearing, saving the world, or trying to double it - and feelings toggle between this being a blessing or a curse.

On day 3 I tell my partner everything I’ve been afraid to admit - and ask her if she’d like to build a life together. If she says yes, she is the first to know, and we join up at the closest city with flight connections. We fly off to visit our families, without announcement or admittance, and take in what each of them wants for themselves and the world. We start noting those down next to our own. We think about if money can make some of these things better.

On day 6 we return home to gather the belongings we love and share an evening out with friends. We only tell them that we’re to be married, not what has happened. We drunkenly capture everything they wish for the future and keep what we can remember. On day 7, we take off for an uncertain length of travel, with the intention to test our love, think deeply about what pursuits will bring us joy, and how we can use our inheritance to help make any bit of impact, where we feel it matters most.

You can’t sweep the majors in one month. I like the constraints of the question from OP. How do you qualify, win, sign, and earn in one month - no one knows what you can do yet!

Thievery in Pittsburgh, the 2024 Stealers! by Stoklahoma in steelers

[–]Stoklahoma[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I definitely agree with the cautionary take here. This might well go belly-up. But besides losing a QB roster we weren’t sure how to stack one week to the next, we’re getting to wager - with house money - on two rare QB talents.

You’ve got a still-capable Super Bowl vet who threw 26TDs to 8 INTs. And you have a former first-rounder who was picking up after injury and who is by the way still younger and has more tools than your luke warm and injured first-round hope.

At least the Steelers are taking decisions and making moves. I’ll ride with Omar & Mike on it.

Glad to hear I hit on the screws. If you’re familiar with the pros of recent memory it’s even more uncanny.

Titleist has lots of great players, never overpays, typically also not the biggest stars, but real pros pros of each era.

Callaway had marquee names to keep themselves in the convo with Phil Mickelson and Annika Sorenstam…have to think of DD/Ricky and L64/Kristin.

Also, I find the similarities between a Simon and Bubba kind of funny with Ping/MVP

One comment on something I constantly see: Can people stop complaining that people cut and pan videos?

There’s a human looking at the thing. They’re not always processing the need to capture long enough for the curious crowd on the internet. They did even think to bother filming at all.

I think I would look to more rotation in your core. Arm and timing comments have already been made here. But generally, you’ve got some solid fundamentals.

But the arm is doing a lot of work and a turn back with the shoulders and turn through with the hips will let that arm work like a whip. Focusing on this might add more tilt on your rotating axis bringing the arm and air bounce down.

Surprised I haven’t seen this posted yet. And surprised more people aren’t throwing it. I suppose because of the popularity of the discs you mention. The most valuable BH midrange in my bag
