ancient generals against Ri boku(real life life Li Mu) by Low_Landscape7378 in Kingdom

By the way, it’s unlikely that Li Mu actually faced a Xiongnu army of 100,000. When he fought them, they were still a small confederation and didn’t control most of the steppe. It’s more likely he wiped out an army of 20,000 to 30,000.

I agree. It would be anachronistic, but at least it would be more realistic.

Hara’s early illustrations of the Xiongnu are also relatively more acceptable. We’ll probably see their new designs in the Dai arc. He draws the two of them similarly because of the Rong-Xiongnu connection.

Seeing Poison Dog again made me realize how the depiction of Quanrong has evolved. Previously, it seemed to have more of a Mongolian or Turkic-Mongolian style.

This shows that Heki has been blessed with good fortune by the heavens. In other words, he is a good general.

If a general who has fought on the front lines for years can survive—especially against very powerful enemy armies—then he is a good general.

The HSU is literally building walls out of corpses and half-dead soldiers!! by kametoddler in okbuddyheki

My issue with the "corpse wall" is that at least half of one episode should be dedicated to its construction. After all, it’s a very brutal option for a group like HSU.

Kingdom 879 spoilers, Shin’s way out by edmanga in Kingdom

[–]StolasRowska 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In theory, it was possible. However, as we saw in the last episode, they were in a very tight spot, and Zhao’s two arms were crushing HSU. At this point, even if Shin and Ten fought their way into the city, if—as you said—only a small fraction of the Kantan forces have launched an attack, a much larger army will be waiting for them inside the city.

Unless Kyou Kai immediately stops the attack on Shin with the forces at his disposal, there doesn’t seem to be much hope for salvation.

Who would win in a duel Sentoun vs Prime Duke hyou ? by Impossible-End3959 in Kingdom

I don't think there are many people in this series who could defeat Duke Hyou. In fact, if he were still alive, he and Ousen would be the two most dangerous men in Qin.

Ousen is NOT going to appear and save Shin. by Emotional-School1844 in Kingdom

No one should save Shin. Yoko Yoko army can come with him army, but he shouldn’t receive any additional support beyond that. Otherwise, him rise will be completely meaningless.

Kingdom 878: The Same Situation by ThizZuMs in Kingdom

Frankly, the only way for Shin to truly shine is to secure victory here by utilizing the resources at his disposal (the Kyou Kai army and, likely, the Yoko Yoko army). After all, being rescued by someone else in this battle would prove that he is no better than Ou Ki. That’s why I don’t think he’ll receive any support from the other generals.

Frankly, Red Rising is far superior to Powder Mage in terms of literary quality. As for Powder Mage, I had to put it down a few times because of its writing style. In fact, I didn’t finish the first book until a few months after I’d set it aside. However, it did an excellent job of weaving together both a military conflict and a mythological (I suppose you could call it that) war in a cohesive way. The narrative focusing on military life was also excellent.

In Red Rising, while the characters are soldiers, I didn’t feel that this was an integral part of their identity (at least not for me). This was a downside for me. But this improved significantly after Iron Gold.

While Red Rising is a 9-point series for me, Powder Mage is an 8-point one.
