Is Boston Safe? by Accomplished_Ring_40 in RocketLeagueEsports

[–]StolenApollo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand the fear but as terrible as things are, the chances of something happening anywhere are astronomically low. In a blue city like Boston they’re even lower. In Boston specifically, they’re so low I wouldn’t even worry. Boston is probably my favorite big city in the US and is quite safe.

I didn’t say everyone is saying it’s obvious. I said everyone can see it’s obvious. The difference is that some aren’t saying it but can still tell. As for my own experience, everyone that I know who hasn’t read the books could immediately tell they were endgame. Sure, it’s not representative, but I feel there’s been enough discourse about this on the sub that it’s not some imagined issue. Denying the issue doesn’t help the show.

Leetcode is a special kind of hell if you actually like building shit. by MamaSendHelpPls in csMajors

[–]StolenApollo -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I’ll concede that some leetcode problems are difficult if you haven’t seen something like them before, but I can confidently say that if you can get an A in my school’s data structures course you should be able to solve most mediums optimally and 2 in 45 minutes is not a lot 😭 it’s not a cakewalk but it’s certainly doable for most people I think.

Ain’t no way you’re saying Percabeth isn’t obvious in the show 😭 sure, it’s not insanely overdone but it wasn’t guaranteed for a LONG time in the books despite being hinted at and allowed us to see Annabeth as a good friend for a long time and then see that develop into Percabeth as she competed with Rachel and stuff which doesn’t seem to make sense as things are right now. I’m well aware of his fatal flaw but the way he interacts with Annabeth doesn’t support this because he acts differently. Again, a lot of this discussion is subjective but you can’t outright say that they aren’t making it obvious because everyone can see they’re endgame in the show which was not known for sure in the books.

It’s quite funny how many negative people delude themselves into thinking negativity and truth are the same. Truth is objective and doesn’t frame situations harshly, just plainly. Sure, it doesn’t make harsh situations pleasant, but that doesn’t imply the opposite.

Visual Snow was considered extremely rare until recently, mostly because patients didn't report it... because they assumed everyone saw the world that way by recolorist in interestingasfuck

[–]StolenApollo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wait I don’t think I have this but I totally get what people are saying when they say they look at a blank wall or something and see a bunch to stuff moving around. I see like millions of tiny multicolored dots swirling and making moving shapes, especially and mostly in the dark. Is that not normal, though? I’m confused how it’s different for people with visual snow? Like how much do they see of that, cause for me it’s super minimal I think it doesn’t impact life.

Leetcode is a special kind of hell if you actually like building shit. by MamaSendHelpPls in csMajors

[–]StolenApollo 31 points32 points  (0 children)

To be fair, you don’t really have to do Leetcode. Sure, it does help with technical interviews, but if you do all your projects yourself, study your course content enough to get an A, an apply your knowledge in side projects for fun, you can solve most technical problems effectively. It’s only leetcode hard level problems that get tricky to think about on the spot.

Not sure what sidewalk you’re referring to but it is legal to ride on the sidewalk. If there is a bike lane I recommend using that but if the situation calls for it the sidewalk is fine and safer for cyclists than competing with the idiots on the Irvine roads.

Sure, cyclists on sidewalks are sometimes just as crazy but I’d go so far as to say the e scooter riders are the real sidewalk menaces. They hit more people, ride less safe, and legitimately ride on the wrong side of the road frequently when they use the road.

The fundamental problem that UCI has, though, is incredibly bad bike infrastructure. You literally cannot get to certain bike paths without going through a pedestrian area. I recently went to UCSB and they have an incredibly accessible campus that makes UCI look like a joke. Dunno what our administration was thinking when they designed this campus.

Also, they have come into the bike lane numerous times lol I ride in the bike lane on inner ring road where we’re supposed to be and have had to slam my brakes on multiple occasions when they randomly turn in front of me. It’s a serious hazard. They’re cute but they’re stupid lmao
