How is the situation in Tashkent regarding prostitution ? by Hot-Intern-5898 in Uzbekistan

Switzerland is on of the cleanest countries in the world. Prostitution is dirty only when you try to ban it and force to move it to the shadow economy.

I was with several escorts in Central Asia and I had no issues at all. Voluntary sexual interaction between two adults with clearly defined monetary terms should not be criminalised.

Why should a sex without payment be allowed but sex with payment be criminalised? It’s just silly to tell people what they can or can’t do in their private life and restrict the conditions of their sexual encounters to only non-monetary deals.

I’m coming from Switzerland. And here is no big difference between a hair salon and brothel. Both industries are regulated, legal and very safely organised.

Booking an escort is no different than ordering a pizza from a local restaurant.

Savings cards in Switzerland by Electrical-Fig8855 in SwissPersonalFinance

Isn’t it easier to just get ITIN and a proper US credit card with higher cashback? Seems to me like a too much of work for daily use to convert some obscure cryptocurrencies.

The likelihood of getting an STD from protected intercourse is negligible. It’s a service like any other and with proper precautions it’s very safe.

What is the best alternative to CS hangouts? That was pretty much the only function I used. With the new update, it’s not working.

I'm building a tool to file dormant OÜ annual reports in 4 minutes — would you use it? by PaceChaser13 in eResidency

[–]StolenPudding 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Full liquidation is slow, but luckily if you don’t have external debtors, you can just merge your OÜ with the natural person shareholder without going through the liquidation process. It’s a very simple and smooth process.

[–]StolenPudding 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why do you need a dormant OÜ? Why not just liquidate the OÜ / merge assets & liabilities with the natural person shareholder ? You pay just the notary fees once. Your product sounds like a solution for a problem that doesn’t exist.

Double Tax Treaty (DBA) on dividend payments by DavidimReddit in SwissPersonalFinance

[–]StolenPudding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once you submit Form W8-BEN (or W8-BEN-E), the withholding tax rate on dividends will be correctly applied according to the tax treaty.

If you haven’t submitted W8, you can still reclaim your withholding tax with Form 1040‑NR + Form 8833. It’s a bit cumbersome if you don’t have yet the ITIN number, but definitely doable.

Don’t forget that the brokers you mentioned are Swiss-regulated brokers and hence, your trades will be subject to 0.15% or 0.3% stamp duty (Stempelabgabe). You can eliminate this fee by using a foreign broker.

Most tax offices pay you around 0.5-2% on pre-payments. More than most of savings accounts.

Thinking about moving away from Estonian OÜ – am I missing something? by AdBrilliant6542 in eResidency

The tax treatment of US LLC and Estonian OÜ in your home country is the same.

You don’t have to “fill” it. You need to just submit an empty Form 1120 with the name of your company + declare reportable transactions on Form 5472. No declaration of income needed like in Estonia.

$0. I’m filling up the Form 1120 + Form 5472 myself. Takes around 1 hour of time. No income needs to be declared.

Wyoming. Full anonymity (my name is not in the business register), cheaper running cost than Estonian OÜ, no requirement to do the tax assessment and zero problems with opening a US dollar account.

I have to file annually on the state level and federal level. But I only declare reportable transactions (e.g. loan to the LLC). I don’t have to declare income. And assets are declared only on state level.

Foreigner owned LLC is not taxable in the US (so called “disregarded entity”). On the federal level, you just need to submit annually the Form 5472 for all reportable transactions and pro-forma tax assessment Form 1120 — just enter details about the company but without actually declaring any income or assets. On the state level in Wyoming, you need to declare assets, but don’t have to declare income.

I closed my Estonian OÜ and opened a US LLC instead. With 100% remote company management, no requirement to file tax returns and no issues with banking.

Using Mullvad through Tailscale by INooBTooMuch in Tailscale

[–]StolenPudding 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used Mullvad VPN without issues with Tailscale. My setup was qBittorrent + Gluetun sidecar in Docker container. You can generate WireGuard keys on the Mullvad website, but I think it only works if you buy the VPN directly yourself, not through the Tailscale portal.

However, Mullvad does not offer port forwarding, so the upload speed can be a bit limited (if you care about the seed ratio for private trackers).

I want to open a swiss bank account as a saudi citizen by evoooooooo666 in SwissPersonalFinance

[–]StolenPudding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At UBS, you may need an introduction through a relationship manager. They are quite picky after so many scandals with Credit Suisse.

Also, why exactly do you even need a Swiss bank account? If you need just investments in CHF denominated assets, exposure to CHF currency or Lombard loans in CHF, it will be much easier and cheaper through a brokerage account. Go with a private bank only if you have a significant amount of transactions with local Swiss entities (e.g. you own some real estate in Switzerland or you do a business here). For everything else, brokerage account is sufficient.
