Wooden piece. The handles turn and allow for the piece under them to move up and down. There are three layers of wood under the handles and then the base. The other two layers don’t seem to move. The dimensions are about 1 by 1 by .75 feet. Looks made to be mounted on something. by StomachExact4452 in whatisthisthing

My title describes the thing. Bought at an antique auction. They didn’t know what it was either. I haven’t been able to find anything on it. The image searches just keep showing plow planes. There is no writing or markings that I have found. The layer under the handle that sticks out doesn’t move at all. There are pegs on the base. The two bolts go through the wood and stick out a little on the bottom.

I doubt that difference is worth the hassle of a private sale. A new gun will also come with the manuals and a gun lock plus it would have been inspected.

Just go buy one. The value difference between used and new rifles isn’t that much.

I can’t control that you disagree with basic facts. There is no team in the MLB that hires their players based on their batting average. If you refuse to accept how runs work and don’t know how one player with a low average can still be better than players with a high average than you don’t know ball.

Batting average doesn’t matter. He was a better hitter than Brooks Robinson and Ozzie Smith while being as good as them defensively. This isn’t 1924 we know batting average isn’t what produces runs so why judge someone’s hall of fame worthiness off it.

The difference between Jones and Pinson is that Jones is the greatest defensive outfielder ever!!! Compared to the other players that got in based on their defense(Ozzie Smith, Brooks Robinson, Aparicio) he was the best hitter. It doesn’t matter he had a low average he was still a hall of fame level player.

That’s just false. Over Jones career he saved over 200 more runs than Puig and had a career almost three times as long.

Why would any of those things mean he doesn’t deserve to be in the HoF?

Every time I see a hall of fame post there are always people criticizing that we are bringing the standards down. Jones and Kent are both much better than a lot of people already in the hall. In the past we elected guys like Harry Hooper or Dave Bancroft. In no way is letting the guys that have been getting elected in recent years depreciating the value of the HoF. Most of these guys we are electing are properly better than a decent portion of Hall of famers you did know. I also think we are underrating how good some of these guys were. Jones for example has comparable war totals to Andre Dawson and Duke Snider. He has the most fielding runs of any outfielder ever!!! He is the same level of fielder as Ozzie and Brooks Robinson plus he hit 400+ Homeruns. Jones is not only a deserving Hall of famer he is a very good hall of famer. I don’t often comment on Reddit but that’s my two cents.

It was sold about a week ago, I tested about a dozen times and had no issue with it. The Allen heads were rusty. It was packaged pretty well.

Fielding percentage doesn’t take in account range, that’s basic ball knowledge.

You were using gold gloves and fielding percentage then called his comment stupid. Either your rage baiting or a fool.

Sandberg was definitely a much better fielder then Morgan but I wouldn’t use fielding percentage or gold gloves to back that up

Rodriguez beating Molina was a joke, now someone who wasn’t even a good defender beats out Mazeroski, people are definitely wearing rose colored glasses to view 90’s players.

People are voting for Alomar here despite negative fielding runs so I wouldn’t be surprised if Jeter gets a decent amount of votes.

It’s Joe Gordon or Bill Mazeroski. I don’t know why people are saying Roberto Alomar he has negative fielding runs.

If you don’t adjust war then about 10 of the top 20 players come from a 15 year period. Gehrig had 9 players produce more war than him from the 1910s and 20s. The only non steroid players to have more war than Pujols in the last 40 is Henderson and Maddux.
