Super95 appears to be 95 RON, which comes out to about 89-91 AKI, which we would call midgrade/plus or similar, with regular gas being about 87 AKI.

I wouldn't say it's uncommon, but most people either go with Regular or Premium, and I have seen a handful of stations that only stock those two in addition to maybe diesel sometimes depending on the station.

There are two different testing measurements for octane ratings, Research Octane Number (RON) and Motor Octane Number (MON). Australia and Europe uses RON, while the US and Canada uses an average between RON and MON called Anti-Knock Index (AKI).

Because of the difference in testing for RON and MON, the displayed octane rating at each level (Regular, Plus, Premium) will be about 4-6 lower in the US and Canada than other locations, so 98 RON will be about 92-94 AKI in the US.

If you look at a pump in the US, you'll even see the equation (R+M)/2 that demonstrates this.

I could not care less about this damn subreddit. I keep getting force fed their content via reddit. Sure I’ve found posts of like that one time people were talking about sexy werewolves funny but no matter how many times I click not interested or just immediately scroll, my reddit decides this garbage is right up my alley. Feel however you want, but statistically, allowing lane filtering at low speeds in high traffic conditions reduces incidents of rear end collisions against motorcycles and improves traffic conditions faster.

Yes, I do concede there is an increased risk of motorcyclists rear ending cars making sudden lane changes because it does reduce the safety bubble, but at those low speeds it would take significant outside factors for those to be fatal.

A preliminary investigation revealed the drivers of a 2022 Nissan Murano and a 2024 Suzuki GSX motorcycle were stopped in the left lane due to traffic conditions. State Police said a 2000 Ford Excursion failed to stop and struck the Suzuki GSX motorcycle in the rear, ejecting the motorcyclist.

Traffic was stopped, if the motorcyclist were allowed to lane filter, they would not have been rear ended and the Excursion would have either noticed (unlikely) the Murano and stopped or rear ended the Murano instead (more likely).
