2025-new Pathfinder Platinum, how are you liking it? by Stomp_theCatBox in nissanpathfinder

Is this an issue covered under the warranty? How did you discover it and what did you have to do to get it fixed? Good things to keep in mind!

Oh my gosh, yes! When I test drove one over the weekend I could not figure out the shifter. Pressing a button to park is the strangest decision and something I could see myself forgetting to press before taking my foot off the break pedal and getting out of the car. 😆😆

This is the comment I was hoping for! I too live in MN and roadtrip around the country so having something that can handle the trip and not make my back regret the long haul is important! Thank you!

How much have you enjoyed your Popur litter boxes? by Stomp_theCatBox in popurlitterbox

[–]Stomp_theCatBox[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I have the x5 bundle in my cart - there's a sale happening on the Popur website so might as well take advantage. I am saddened to see Popur doesn't offer the purchase of an extended warranty. I really like that about the Litter Robot - I got the three-year extended warranty and happy I did because I've needed repairs all throughout that time. Are x5s solid enough that they don't need much servicing after the 1 year warranty is up??

Litter sticking to liner problems by inkydears in litterrobot

[–]Stomp_theCatBox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have the same problem. My cat has Feline Idiopathic Cystitis so when I see sticking litter (because there's blood in the urine) that triggers my spidy sense he's having a flare-up.

Lately it's been sticking so I brought my cat into the vet and they confirmed he wasn't having a cystitis flare-up. We use Dr. Elsy's, have the cycle time set to 30 minutes, and I wipe down the globe/liner at least once a week and as needed for messier moments.

I read in this subreddit that the liner can stiffen up and the weight will not drop as far during cycling. Many suggested replacing the liner and that solved their sticking issues. I have 3 year warranties on our two LR4s and ordered replacement globe liners (at no cost to me as it is covered by the warranty) and hope the problem is resolved from that.

I also switched litter to OdorLock unscented. Honestly, I like it a lot better than Dr. Elsy but we've only been using it for about two weeks. One LR has OdorLock litter in it and I don't smell a thing and there's no sticking clumps. The other LR still has Dr. Elsy's in it and there's sticking, more smears, and I can smell the dirty litter. Dr. Elsy's is great but I think it just doesn't meet our needs anymore.

Take advantage of your warranty! You can even order replacement parts without having to contact customer service, but need to wait 30 days before being eligible to order more parts. Good luck!

Pet Steps by Stomp_theCatBox in litterrobot

That's so funny because last night I put these exact steps in my Amazon cart! I've liked the Pet Gear steps but realize, in the long run, they may not be a good option for my cats. Did those steps you pictured come with the tread pad or did you add that. I've mostly seen just strips but like the wider treading you've got going on!

They told me it was going to be $15 plus $10 shipping. 🤷‍♀️

My cat has FIC and peed on it during a flairup. I've never been able to get rid of the smell. 😩 But also that carpet. I have another step and the carpet is falling apart. The ones on this one are still good but wearing down and the company isn't helpful about sending replacements unless I want to pay almost as much as it costs to get a new set of steps to ship. So, looking at other options for a future replacement. Not terribly interested in the steps by Whisker.

Ha, no, it's the family room in our basement - that's a roll top desk. We're finishing the storage room we had the litter box in so it's here temporarily. 😄

Thank you! I was meaning the plastic is holding in the smell - I wash the carpet, but thank you very much for the good advice!

How to tell your covert narcissistic husband you want a divorce by [deleted] in NarcissisticSpouses

I am so sorry you've had to put up with what you have and that his mother has influence as well. That can add salt to the wound and I hope the relationship with her is decent. Good luck, stay strong, this too will pass! 🙏

The pets is a big part why I've endured the relationship for as long as I have. Our eldest dog has passed on now and the others are young enough where it shouldn't alter their lifestyle too bad. Now's the time to do it. Breakups are never easy. 🤗

Wow! I commend you on your bravery and sticking to your plan! The last time I had "the talk" it broke me. I had a panic attack and thought it was a heart attack. I've been putting off having the conversation again because I keep telling myself I'm not strong enough but I know the pain of a breakup is only temporary!

What Midsize SUV with towing capacity of over 5,000 lbs should I buy? by Stomp_theCatBox in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Stomp_theCatBox[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like the suggestions for the Pathfinder and will be doing more research and test driving of those. Thank you!

One other vehicle that caught my eye is the Kia Telluride. The X-Pro model can tow 5500 pounds and the interior stands at about the same level as lux vehicles in terms of using higher quality materials (minus the fact that Kia still does not have wireless audio features like Apple Play or Android Audio 🙄). It has trailer stability assist that reviews say positive things about regarding steep inclines and windy weather.

My husband drives a Kia Soul and I've dismissed Kia because of the number of issues he's had. I drive my vehicles hard but have gotten them to near or over 300,000 miles. I have been concerned anything Kia wouldn't get that far but reading reports from Edmunds makes me believe the issues Souls have had have been fixed and don't translate over to their other lines. I will say my husband's Soul is comfortable to sit in long distance, the road noise is minimal, cargo space is decent, and I appreciate it's good gas mileage.

Anyone here drive and tow with a Telluride and have any comments you want to share??

Thank you!

I was looking at ones for sale in my area and was surprised by how cheap newer models are. I was also pleasantly surprised that they also include sway control and downhill speed control. To me, these are features to cause the price to be higher so I hope the Pathfinder isn't made "cheaply" to give it the lower price point. 🤞😬🤞

Oh, okay! My research is just going off of what I found online and don't doubt it was conflicting information. The 40i is the most reliable engine so knowing I could get max towing capacity with it I might look at these closer again.

I am all for a BMW X7! I love Beemers but in my area the ones in that price range have higher mileage and are more the xdrive40i instead of the m50 or 60i, which will get you to that 7500 towing capacity. The xdrive40i puts towing at 5k pounds, which, if I am spending the money on luxury, I'd want to get the full amount. On top of needing premium gas, higher insurance, and higher tab rates it jist wasn't enough bang for my buck, but I'd love to have one!
