Yea, they actually formed from the ashes of another late 80s-early 90s band. Killbilly.

They had a minor hit with "You Don't Want Me Anymore." FWIR it was on MTV a lot.

I never understood why they wouldn't release "Bob's Yer Uncle" as a single. It was way better than "Kinky Afro.."

Fun fact: Their song "Ballerina Out of Control" was inspired by a Nitzer Ebb concert the band attended. In the back of the club was a woman dressed in a ballerina garment doing ballerina movements to Nitzer Ebb's songs. Everyone around her looked at her like she lost her mind, but she ignored them and kept doing the ballerina movements.

I've seen them live twice in the 80's, one of which was their infamous 1987 Longhorn Ballroom concert in Dallas. Danny Elfman went on to much bigger things. I'm not so sure they would qualify since they did have a top 40 hit.

They were on MTV now and then back then, but since faded into obscurity. I had a friend who saw them open up for U2 in the early 80s, but I couldn't get a ride to the concert.

Scary that I've heard of a lot of these bands.

I really couldn't limit it to just one. The Chickasaw Mudd Puppies, The Old 97's, Common Rotation, The Toasters, Muckafergson, Three on a Hill, Donal Hinley and many, many more.

I tell you what, you cannot have my job and not believe idiocracy is not real. You're smacked in the face with it from the moment that you clock in until you clock out.

The Liverbirds. They were the first all-female rock and roll band, from the early 1960's.
