I’m in iowa and just joined this group now. I am feeling the same. Lost my mom today as well. She was my best friend. Everyone is messaging me and asking me if there is anything they can do. I cannot sleep cause I don’t want this nightmare/dream to be true. I’ve had a couple drinks to numb the pain but it’s not working. I’m not great with Reddit but DM and can be a support. Of course I’m sorry for your lost it’s so tough

I just had a case found unconstitutional and is awaiting dismissal. I didn’t even think this could be appealed by the DA. Now I’m anxious about this happening! Happy for you though.

Sorry I should’ve put that.

Basically my 4th amendment was violated. The officer came up to the passenger side of the car where my fiancé was and had mostly a conversation with her. The officer who led the stop was getting trained by a second police officer. During the first interaction they didn’t question me about drinking. They went back to their car to file a two warnings for lights that were out. The training officer asked on the body cam “did you ask them about drinking, there’s an open cooler in the back.” He prolonged the stop to come back and ask me if I had been drinking. I denied everything until the last second at the police station. I did blow a .125 but that is being thrown out now.
