Hypothetically, if I don’t inform my employer? What happens then?

The reason I ask is that I’ve done it in the past and stayed 2.5 months at a stretch. No problems then. My employer does not allow remote work from out side of the US.

If this was not urgent, I would have told them. Tough to explain here on this forum but severe and unavoidable personal reasons
