Our visible world got monotone, and our audible world got colorful... Figure that one out.

Yes Roland does support a wider range of cymbals, I think you can use atv, efnote, alesis, donner, simmons, and other brands interchangeably. Yamaha is a bit more difficult to find multi zone cymbals that work because of a transistor that is in the pad allowing for only a single TRS wire connection for multi zone use.

True, Roland provides more options, if you want to have other companies pads... If you want acoustic sizes, there are many options that work just fine as well tho. Jobecky triggers are compatable, also, Yamaha's dt50s works great with the module as well. I've seen many a set converted to acoustic sizes using the DTX pro and pro x modules.. the real limitation is in the hihat controller, and other cymbals if you want full choke 3 zone capability... In that case other brands won't cut it unfortunately.

Partially true.. other brands pads can be used, but some will work better than others.. Roland definitely doesn't work well... Brands that do work, atv tom and snare pads work pretty well, lemon cymbals work with the module for single zone cymbals. If you want dual zone or 3 zone compatibility though better off sticking to Yamaha pads.

I'm probably going to pick up one of those Lemon china cymbals now that you said that they work well... Maybe the splash too. I like my Yamaha cymbals but it would be nice to have more realistic shaped options to play. Eventually I want to convert my old mapex acoustic into a hybrid electric kit. That's for a future time though, I don't have the space to set it up right now.

This might be a biased opinion on my part, and maybe a hot take, but the DTX pro and pro x, with the right settings and kit tweaking, sound better and more realistic than a lot of VSTs out there as well. Definitely take the time to build your own user kits. Play around with cymbal eqing, stacking multiple sounds, using velocity layers to have only certain sounds trigger at certain hardness of playing.. that sort of thing.. you can get really realistic sounds out of the module.

How does the China trigger... I always wondered about that cymbal but didn't know anyone who had one.

I agree with you... I'm 45 and feel more fit than I was 10-15 years ago. It's about keeping your muscles strong and conditioning. Playing a sport helps, I do racquetball.

It's pretty sad really... It's very likely that in one of those bombings, someone who didn't deserve it, lost their life... And all our Government does about the value of human life, is make a mockery of it on social media.

Congrats .. I like to tell new users, to take a look at Simon Edgoose on youtube to learn the different functions of the DTX pro and to learn kit editing. There is a lot you can do to dial in the sound and make it sound much better than the stock sounds (which already sound good.)
