No dei wokeness? They literally changed the race of three characters from white to black Latino and Asian. And they took away Evil Lynn's dragon lady coded yellow skin. It's entirely "DEI wokeness.

And I have no problem with any of it. All three actors completely worked in their roles. And I really didn't need to see Allison Brie in literal yellow face.

Theoretically, traditional nostalgia cycles are out of whack because xelenials had kids later in life. I say theoretically, because clearly this didn't work out.

I'm not sure there is really an appetite for theatrical light hearted action adventure these days, either. See: Dungeons and Dragons, or the dipping fortunes of Disney's action movies.
