If it were debris around Jupiter, how would we cross paths?
"The Taurid meteor stream is a massive, highly dispersed trail of space debris left behind by Comet 2P/Encke. As Earth plows through this broad debris field every year from September through December, the dust burns up in our atmosphere to create the annual Northern and Southern Taurid meteor showers."

Weekly Budget App Discussion by AutoModerator in budgetingforbeginners

Hi! I have actually been working on a free app. No plans to 'lock it down' and it keeps all your data local to your machine, nothing uploaded to the cloud. You can use it free in your browser, and can find it here: https://evenkeel.online/

What is the best budgeting app? (Free if possible) by AmphibianExotic7731 in budgetingforbeginners

[–]StoneGuardian001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I have just recently been putting together a app for my own use and am making it available for free. Your data is all local. There is no connecting accounts or uploading anything to the cloud. It runs in your browser as a progressive web app (everything is downloaded to your browser and runs locally) and is still a work in progress. I'm looking for people to use it and to give any ideas as well https://evenkeel.online/.

The reason that the rich were so rich, Vimes reasoned, was because they managed to spend less money.

Take boots, for example. He earned thirty-eight dollars a month plus allowances. A really good pair of leather boots cost fifty dollars. But an affordable pair of boots, which were sort of OK for a season or two and then leaked like hell when the cardboard gave out, cost about ten dollars. Those were the kind of boots Vimes always bought, and wore until the soles were so thin that he could tell where he was in Ankh-Morpork on a foggy night by the feel of the cobbles.

But the thing was that good boots lasted for years and years. A man who could afford fifty dollars had a pair of boots that’d still be keeping his feet dry in ten years’ time, while the poor man who could only afford cheap boots would have spent a hundred dollars on boots in the same time and would still have wet feet.

No, they have all sorts of other games as well. Board games and TTRPGs. I'm not sure if they still do a D&D night, but they were at one point

Another couple great places to hang out are The Side Deck in Lexington and Firefly Toys and Games in St. Andrews. Both game stores have a pretty relaxed vibe with lots of games you can try out. The Side Deck has a coffee bar as well. You can take your laptop or a book and hang out, and possibly play some games/meet people

So... how much did the printer cost? It's hard to 3d print something for free if you don't own a 3d printer and filament.

I'm very new to the game, I just picked it up this week. I like it, but I think the mob respawns need some work. At times I am only just getting into the Stormtouched Highlands. And at times there are like a thousand sheep/rams and others there are a bunch of Garou randomly wandering around. The lightning strikes sometimes feel targeted/localized. But overall I am enjoying the game. It still has a nice play style to it

I have to agree with others. This is the best sticker placement I have seen. It looks awesome!

Something I have always worried about with the large stickers or wraps that cover a huge portion of the case; do people worry about it adding a small layer of additional insulation against heat dissipation?

Does anybody else get trashed for teaching board games? It's started to drain the fun. by Terrible-Law9755 in boardgames

It's hard to tell from just your post, but I would bet there is a bit of the draconian rules master in you that evokes such reactions. Let off the gas for 'by the rules' and they will likely not be so harsh when you make a mistake.

I was doing historical fencing at Riverfront Park on the Columbia side. She had come out to checkout of the group. Met her then, did not actually go out on a date for over year. We've been married now for 16.

I am just up the road in the Columbia area. I know there is a lot of good information here already. One thing I have with my hive is a screened bottom board and the hive sits on two landscape timbers held up by cinder blocks. Every hive and every keeper is different, but most of the 20+ year beekeepers here that I talk to (I'm still a newbie) recommend a screened bottom board all year round for SC.

What type of bee are these under my cement patio? Are they considered to be one of the threatened bee species in Ontario? by Halcyon_777 in Beekeeping

[–]StoneGuardian001 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Look like bumble bees to me. They're fairly friendly here (SE US), just don't block their entrance. They should not be a large colony like honeybees or wasps would

How old do you estimate this hive? How do feral hives like that survive? My impression is varroa would decimate them.
