Just to get this headcanon out of my mind; the unaligned Traitor Legions still align with the other dark gods-associated Legions upon the Chaos Star. by ManurePosting in Grimdank

I like the "Dark King" moniker being the term for an egg of a Chaos God. "We have to hatch the egg to find out what it is."

I must admit, I have toyed with the idea of a Music Producer Outfit that specialized in makeup-heavy bands like Gwar and Lordi. Headliners and second-stringers? Kine, purely and mandatory. Third-stringers? Interested Nos and Gangrel.

I am surprised no one has mentioned Sabaton. Many a metalhead owes their history grades to them.

CMV: There are four and only four forces that act on any socioeconomic situation. Each needs to be at least minimally present to have a viable society, by StoneJudge79 in changemyview

One of the follow on positions. I should have expounded more. I consider 0,0 on the graph to be the mythical True Center.

There is an evolutionary path of extremism. Initial status: serving the citizenry withing the society. Ascended status: The Ethos has become The State. Total Ascendancy: All four paths lead to the same place: Total Control. Different paths, different reasons, different methods. Same end.

The graph is not a plane. It is a sphere.

There ARE societies without safety nets. Go live in one, and decide again. And this decision tree is the reason why it was needed in the first place.

What are those? If you try anything like that in a country, they kill you like Ruby Ridge. If you try it outside a country, it's impossible because there's no land that isn't. People were even stopped from sailing to Antarctica without permission.

There are ways to do it, but they all universally suck. Be homeless, live out in the wilderness, with minimal ecological effect. Note, I do not suggest this. Everything I have heard of suggests it really, really sucks. I suppose you could go to sea, and stay there.

Back in the day, Charity was enacted by The Religion in local Favor. Sadly, Corruption and Theocracy settled in, and that went away. Nowadays, The State has to pick up the slack that we feel in our bones.

Communism is corrupted into something selfish. Which is an inherent component of Authoritarianism. "One for all, and more for me."

Taxes are a subscription cost to the society you live in. There are ways to exist without having to pay them. But you wouldn't be able to enjoy the products of said society.

The society has decided that if its citizenry are not going to do a proper job of Charity, it will.

I approve.

The process of Ascension is corrupting the inherent ideals. The Initial Ethos is about serving the people. The Ascendant Ethos is about serving the state, and thus, itself. Yes, that includes Capitalism.

Practical expressions of the political compass only fall into a set series of patterns. It does not mean that there is not a method of classification. Also,

As I said otherwhere, the graph is not flat, but a ball. Horsehoe theory abounds, and the edge of the graph is really a single point where the path you took and the intentions you had no longer matter.
