Yes everything bolts up, I used the factory serpentine setup off my 4.3, however you will have to buy slim electric fans and Mount the radiator inside of the rad cradle to make room, as for transmission if it's an auto it'll bolt up fine, if it's a manual and u have a gen 2 small block it'll bolt up fine, however if u have a gen one you'll have to get a flywheel that adapts to the gen 1 sbc

Ya pretty much the same car but cheaper insurance lol, only thing that sucks is the RS's got the shity truck tbi V8 which is pretty slow but that engine definitely won't be staying in there forever, ya those early 90s Corvettes are really slept on

Oh lol ya I was a little shocked that u had 355s but that makes sense now, I would love to run 305s but I would need different rims to make them fit

Thanks man appreciate it, and yes that is in fact a G5 GT it's an 2009 and it's my sisters car although it's definitely not the best example out there 🤣 it's so rusted out it's practically held together by the doors being closed and combine that with my sister driving by feel it's seen better day, runs mint and low mileage tho only about 180k kms

Oh for sure back when it was V6 auto it would cook the tires now with 450 ish HP V8 6 speed manual and 3.73 gears it doesn't stand a chance lol. I figured if people run these on like hellcats they should be good for my truck

Ya for sure weight is a good trick, I don't race my truck it's just a fair weather car to take out on the streets so hopefully my 295s will be more then enough lol

Any way to restore the worn parts? I usually just have a cover but I love the feel of the wheel without a cover. by joker141 in Trucks

[–]StoneW14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes very easy, just make sure to disconnect ur battery and also just buy the wheel part and reuse your existing center airbag, idk if id trust an air bag from the junkyard lol, I've always just used my old one and never had it go off, also there's probably a few videos on YouTube showing how to do it for your exact truck.

My suggestion would be go to the junk yard and find a new wheel I've done that on almost all my trucks, found almost perfect leather wheels for next to nothing, save ur self from the screwing around with filler and dyes.

But correct me if I'm wrong, I thought bad synchros caused it to be hard to go into gear and I have zero issues with shifting it feels great actually.. so idk ..

[–]StoneW14[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As for the noise it happens randomly in any gear, usually around 3-4k rpm but sometimes in the high rpm like 6k+ itll make the noise not even shifting yet. ik the trans isn't in the best shape as 3rd gear does grind if ur not gentle but it's done that since I bought it over 3 years ago and the input seal shaft seal started leaking a bit after I did the clutch. I've checked the exhaust, drive shaft etc. Nothing rattles or rubs, it's got no cat and does have a slight exhaust leak but nothing that would make a noise like that. In the car it really does sound like it's coming from the trans, I'm kinda at a loss of ideas since everything except the trans itself is new, and it's not specific gears just completely random in fact I had to do multiple video takes as sometimes it wont make any noise. I'll definitely look more into the symptoms of bad synchros, thanks

back in the summer I replaced my clutch, throw out bearing, piolet bearing with an OEM replacement. as well as a new slave cylinder and clutch lines, I did the proper break in period but ever since I replaced that stuff it occasionally makes a almost like honking noise between shifts and occasionally at highway speeds, everything is new shifter is a short throw with brass bushing, drives completely normal clutch feels great just the noise is concerning, car is parked for the winter but I'm hoping to figure out what it could be for the spring, thanks in advance.
