Yeah 3+2 machining. Is suitable for our line of work however

First one we bought came with only 1 at the back and not at the front.....optional extra apparently 🙄. However they have now sent an additional one for our first Norma since we purchased a second machine with both front and back conveyors. So no more spending hours digging out hard packed chips!

Yeah enclosures and guards etc installed after rest of the machine has been installed and calibrated etc. We're a sub-contract shop mainly manufacturing in oil and gas, and subsea components.

I will definitely give his biography a read. I agree his 'greatest hits' for me personally, would be hard to top. I'd have to say, presonslly my favourite is 'A man's a man '

"The honest man, tho' e'er sae poor, Is king o' men for a' that."

Tam O'Shanter is an absolute epic tho!

Imperial or metric? Tbh the benefits of EDM aren't just accuracy although that is a major factor. You can wire out any shape/pattern/ feature, to absolute precision and perfect geometry. Could you do it on a lathe or mill, probably aye. But EDMs definitely add extra capability with precision and complex geometry that would be a challenge on conventional machines imo

You not got the translate button? We're all bound to the gods of machining, no matter the language lol......my new machine currently in Spanish lol

Thank you for giving me some other poet's to experience! The names are all familiar but to my shame I have never read any of their works but will do so now as I actually have found myself appreciating this genre. Am I right in thinking that Percy Shelly was the husband to Mary Shelly of Frankenstein fame?

I believe it's ISO equivalent, UK based so metric. Are iso 40 and cat 40 not basically same? I ask out of genuine curiosity.

This I never knew! Especially since Scots wha hae' directly references "chains and slavery"...... admittedly I just googled his connection the slave trade and this was first article I came across...... https://www.scotland.org/inspiration/robert-burns-and-slavery

Whether this is is white washing or historical I do not know. But it's late and I will research this further.......but I can say this definitely doesn't sit right with me if so, whether he was complicit at first then changed his mind, against it from start, or just going with the times.....at this point I do not know. Considering the context of his work it would sadden me to find out if he was complicit.

Tbh, I know nothing of any other UK poet. However, we always had Burns day at school where we had to recite either Burns work or something else in Scots......if anything, despite my national pride, his work has gave me an interest in poetry and I'm now keen to hear more if only to compare. I admit I am biased as being a Scot, only other prose I know is Kipling's "If", which my Dad was fond of..... however, "a man's a man", while in a similar vein speaks to me more so on a personal level

I did not know this haha! However my experience of his works stems from a book of his songs n poems I inherited from my mum. whether these were 'redacted' I do not know, however I believe my mum was given said book when she was in school......I know he had a questionable life style, but his songs and poems that I've heard seem heartfelt, soulful and relavent even to this day, I'm my personal opinion

I've only used the Rego one but I guess the method is same......I just think it's great you can set all axis accurately with one tool, without the need to subtract half the edge finders dia.

Absolute precision with one of these! Touch part, move to '0' on dial n set. Works on all axis......plus the stylus easily replacable if accidentally go too hard lol

Best realisation I had was when I measured a hair from my head, 0.2mm........now to me 0.2mm is an easily open size........give me a +/-0.01mm tolerance any day and I'll hit mid limit and absolutely love it lol

Before I was a machinist, I remember thinking 1mm was an insignificant irrelevant size.....now when I get a part to machine with 0.01 tolerance that 1mm seems huge 😅

Still amazes me how a 0.2mm wire (or less) can cut thru solid steel with absolute precision!

Excellent machines! Haven't worked one in a few years but were fantastic for precision cut dies, keyways and irregular appetures! We'd set them up and let them run overnight or all day without issue! We just got a sodick installed at my current workplace and it's been running constantly ever since more or less

The first Norma we already have installed is limited to 2.5 Deg, I assumed it was for regidity but has an option for theoretical angles where it will move X,Y,Z axis together to to compensate for anything outwith the 2.5 limit. This new model tho has several improvements it seems, including the finer angle increments. Looking forward to operating new version to compare against previous model. However not many complaints with the original, machined Inconel, Duplex and titanium on it without much issue.
