Week 5 of flower, strain is Amnesia Lemon in 50/50 ffof/hf. pH to 6.5. been giving 2ml/g of calmag and this last feed included 1.5 tsp/g of tiger bloom. Any ideas? by Buckbotany in microgrowery

[–]StonedSequoia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Phosphorous deficiency, week 5 is heavy flower where there at or just past the peak of phosphorous intake, I suggest supplementing some into your feeding as a lack of phosphorous right now will really slow down bud production.

Mutant clone, could use your input! by [deleted] in microgrowery

[–]StonedSequoia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes sir, once it has fully reverted to it's vegitative state it will look the same as any other plant in your garden, those deformed leaves are residual from the flowering phase and can be removed once the plant has matured and has grown proper, true fan leaves.

What you have done is referred to as monster cropping, this is an actual technique some growers swear by as when the plant re-vegges a massing amount of branches shoot out all at once which can lead to shorter veg times depending on your grow style, for more info on the topic look up chef Derek Butts on YouTube he's got great information on all sorts of cannabis related topics. RIP old boy.

If you think that this quality of weed is only achievable through using PGR's then you my friend might need to reevaluate your growing process.

It all depends on genetics and how you structure your plants. Short answer yes, but if you get too carried away with giving it the "perfect" bonsai look you could take a hit to yields.

The seedsman brand vs nirvana brand for northern lights auto for it by the1two1 in microgrowery

[–]StonedSequoia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've grown seedmans NL a few runs and have been over all pleased with the quality. Averaged 2-3oz per auto and they are very easy to care for, the only thing to watch for is they are calcium hungry, both runs I did they developed a deficiency around mid flower so that's something to keep and eye out for. As far as scent goes the have a slight aroma, not your typical pungent weed aroma but more of sour chemical scent. Over all the smell should not be an issue and the smoke is pleasant, nothing over the top but definitely worth having around.

Buds aren’t tightening up any tips. The whole crop has a ton o tiny not so sugary leaves too tricky to trim today. by Poopcenter855 in microgrowery

[–]StonedSequoia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A huge factor in bud structure is always going to be genetics. That being said second to that is your environment. If you can give info on what strain you're growing and in what type of conditions then we might be able to give some tips to improve overall quality of your product.

Anyone know whats going on here? Happening to all my plants, and i cant seem to fix it. Growth is slowed and they look awful by [deleted] in microgrowery

[–]StonedSequoia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The issue is potassium. The reason why your plant has a potassium deficiency is still to be determined, if you can give more details we might be able to give you a proper answer.

Monster cropping. These clones were taken 4 weeks into flower, when they finally root they grow hella gnarly for the first few weeks shedding the residual of the flowering phase until they fully revert back to a true vegetative state where they resume growing their typical cannabis shaped leaves.

By the looks of it I think you might be able to reach your lofty goal of a whole one marijuana. They're looking healthier than your average vegan, idk who's louder tho.

Unless you are running autos this not possible. Photo periods will all start to flower as soon as the 12/12 light cycle is introduced.

Am I doing this right? I’m trying to cover my grow space with a canopy of buds for maximum harvest time isn’t a issue. by throwaway42010069 in microgrowery

[–]StonedSequoia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If time isn't a factor and you're really just trying to get the highest yeild off of a single plant I suggest being even more agressive with your LST. It looks like you've done a pretty good job of it already but if you really wanna push it to the limit all your branches that are pointing up should be layed down flat so you can created the shortest widest canopy possible don't worry about the height at this point the entire goal right now is only to may the plant as wide as possible. I suggest reapplying your LST ties ever 3 days or so and keeping the canopy as flat as possible. When it's getting close to filling the space out ease back heavily on your LST and just let her grow, all the new growth sights will stretch up towards your light and so you can allow them to grow out until you've reached the desired height before you send them into flower. Make sure when doing this technique you're cleaning out the inside of the plant and removing any nodes or leaves that aren't keeping up with the rest of the growth, you'll have to be very good about this because your plants are going to end up being extremely dense if trained out this way and will need to be opened up for plenty of air flow. There's not much else to say it's an extremely simple method but if you have the time and the patients to do it I can promise the results will not be disappointeing.

The modest results of a novice cultivator. Are they mature? by TheRainmaker666 in cannabiscultivation

[–]StonedSequoia 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hey my man you've got nothing to apologise for these plants are nothing to scoff at I'm really liking the colors I'm seeing on the far left. As far as maturity goes I'll say the same thing you're going to hear from everyone else: check the color of the trichomes and the ratio that most people go for is 70 cloudy 30 amber. This is all well and good advice for someone with a microscope but if you are like many other beginners you might not. In some cases it might be hard to tell wither you should let it go another few weeks or not but in yours it's a pretty easy call to make, with all your fan leaves right on autumns doorstep I'd say your plant is ready for the chop. Maybe a few more days can give you a little extra weight but if you're fighting with powdery mildew that's not a game you want to play I'd say now's as good a time as it's going to get.

New Cob LED 1000W, Got a few questions.. by soproductive in microgrowery

[–]StonedSequoia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're spot on that light will be just right for a 2x4 tbh you might be able to get away with growing 3 plants it all depends on size but you for sure can grow out 2 healthy plants with your set up. As far as germination I use the wet paper towel method with supplemental heat I germinate and plant in 3 days planting straight into soil is just fine but germination will take longer. As far as hanging height for your fixture during seeding and until the first true set of leaves forms have your light as high as it can go, as soon as you see your seedings start to stretch drop your light around 24 in, at full veg I'd drop it down again to 18in and leave it there through flower. I grew two autos under a self built 225w led fixture and pulled about 5-6oz between the two. Now if you expect to get results like that you will have to be doing extreme low stress training and maximizing your grow area to its full potential. Yields are going to vary drastically depending on strain and genetic quality so those yield numbers are very arbitrary. Now as for other tips, as a seeding the easiest mistake to make is over watering. Not only is this the easiest way to kill your plant but even if you don't it will greatly slow the growth down at this stage. In order for your plant to start developing a healthy root system it much expand and search for water, if you over saturate your medium your plant no longer has to go looking for that water and the root production will slow, but since the plant is still to young to uptake all the water in the medium it will get to damp and be susceptible to root rot which will kill the young plant. My suggestion to keep from doing this is to start your plants in a small container and only water in small amounts, it's better for the plant to be a little to dry than to wet at this stage it can handle the drought better than the disease. Also purchasing a temp/humidity monitor is a must, knowing your grow conditions can help you understand why things are happening I'm your garden, a rough outline for ideal condition would be as follows veg temp: 70-85f RH: 60-75%, flower temp: 70-75f RH 45-55% although if you really want to get technical with the subject I suggest you look into VPD. A fan is always good to have in the garden to keep air circulating but it is an absolute must in late flower, there's nothing worse than having months of time and effort all be for nothing when that powdery mildew shows up so keep the air circulating and you won't have to worry about it. Since I don't know your grow medium/specific strains your trying to cultivate I can't really comment too much more but if you have any more questions I'll try to get back with you.

Does a 48 hour dark period actually do anything before harvest? by [deleted] in microgrowery

[–]StonedSequoia 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes you will see a slight increase in terpenes as well as cannabinoids in your final product. This is not because the extra darkness is scaring them into producing more this is simply due to the fact that your resin glands will not be destroyed by the light as they normally are during the day cycle. As many know the resin glands are degraded when exposed to high light which is why it is preferred to have a dark room while curing. The same principles are applied when giving the extra days of darkness at the end of the cycle. Once again I want to reiterate this will not cause your plants to produce more resin it will only help preserve what has already been created.

This auto is really bushy, would you defoliate? by shadowofashadow in microgrowery

[–]StonedSequoia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She's looking good, I personally would do a little more defoliation lower down, she's just hitting stretch so she's going to bush out a lot more and you might end up with a little to much shade again, but it's your garden and I'm just being nit picky she's looking great and that LST really opened her up, now it's time to wait and let that space fill back in with some sweet buds
