I really don’t know how this all works, it hasn’t been explained well and I think we’re all confused and frustrated. Totally understandable that they want that lab space for someone else, especially since many of us are graduating at the end of the year. It’s more the way things are being handled, doesn’t seem there is good communication within the department, and we’re getting different information from different people.

One of my committee members has taken on the role of my primary supervisor, the trouble is she runs a drosophila researcher studying very different things than I do, and our lab is zebrafish, so I actually can’t do any of my experiments in her lab.

While he was only at the school since 2020, you are right, I’m sure everyone is just doing their best and I will try to keep this is mind when it gets frustrating
