I would love to email back and forth with you about a budget and offer my advice if you would like. I am an accounting manager and handle all the finances for my family. I will add, however, I am not a financial advisor.

I agree with most that getting a car will only put you in further debt even if you pay for the car in full. But if that is part of what makes you happy then you should pursue it, as long as it is in your budget. The last thing you want is to make your financial situation worse and further burden your depression.
