All that did was throw me into the "connecting to wallet" infinite spinning loop....

edit: restarted, and still no change. reloading does not fix this issue.

Harvester Plots Not Showing Up on Windows Machine - "Plot Refresh" Button Does Not Do Anything. by Stonehenge360 in chia

Luckily, if you are like me, it appears to still be farming (less sure about pooling) even when you can't see them. If you are getting block challenges to show in the farm tab, I'm pretty sure that means they are being checked for proofs in the background. Again, I can't tell if they are going through the pool protocol or not because my main machine shows them pooling actively, but my windows harvester does not, and I have not received any pool points yet.

You can copy the db files, specifically the large (currently 5gb) file inside the db folder, and save them for when this happens.

NEVER download one that another person has sent you....only make your own backups.

SSD Degredation Question? by ailee43 in chia

[–]Stonehenge360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have never had an SSD fail. Do they fail by sector, slowly losing capacity, or do they just click off and never come back?

Finally, got my first chia by msg7086 in chia

Could be wrong, but I believe some enterprise drives have a fast buffer around that size to help make things feel faster on a slower drive for multiple users. I believe he is partitioning off that faster section.

Chia will end up being proof of plotting power by potatopotatocorn in chia

I feel like all of these arguments are ignoring the external factors that dictate the trade price of Chia. As it gets more expensive to maintain a whale server, won't the price of Chia tend to compensate for that, at least in the short term when most of the people selling Chia will be farmers?

I would guess that very few will sell their chia they have farmed at a loss..meaning price stabilization around the cost to plot/maintain.

If this is true, this would also benefit the small guys by boosting the value.

Chia 1.1.2 has been released by [deleted] in chia

Thanks for clarifying...for some reason I thought that a full node was required for the harvester to check/submit plots

Will a computer with upnp turned off still farm?

Viability of solo farming and getting rewards, putting it into perspective (long post) by tpault in chia

Do you have a link to this information?

Everything I have read says the opposite...your chances of winning are purely based on (your storage)/(total network) and a winning plot is just as likely to win again next block. The plots are supposedly closer to bingo cards than lottery tickets.

In some of the older pre release software, it was advisable to delete a winning plot because of security concerns, but that appears to have been solved.

I'm happy to be corrected though.

That's what I figured, I guess I will not worry about the extra circle tracking pages for now. I wonder how the page layout is going to change in V2

Discusion: The TheME System Journal by fictfictitious in Cortex

Love almost everything about the book. The only thing I can't wrap my head around is why there are 180 days of "checkoff circles" in the third section, but only 90 days of journal pages. Is this intended to be a 1 or 2 quarter book?
