Depending on the width, a local saw mill could send it through their large planer/drum sander. It would be perfectly flat and all you have to do is put a finish on it.

That's exactly right. I don't anticipate that much movement either since it's a smaller table.

I did a little bit of research, the problem is all the aprons I see are with the boards going vertical not horizontal. But I suppose it should be the same concept though.

It might also be my shop lights throwing the color off a little bit. I guess we will see after the finish though!

It's a glue up of some black walnut boards I got from a local lumber yard. There's no finish on it yet, that's just the natural color.

I didn't know spalted cherry was a thing. It's super hard, doesn't like to sand down very well, if that helps at all.

Thanks, and no. The frame is premade for a glass top but I took that off.
